As a kid I remember going to the Week 17 game in 2003, it was Jim Fassel’s last game as coach, the Giants were 4-11. Their starting QB was Jesse Palmer (yes, that Jesse Palmer). It was another meaningless game also preceded by a snowstorm. But Giants Stadium was still packed. I don’t care what the attendance figures will say, but there could have been no more than 25,000 people in the stands today- and I think that’s quite generous. Giants pride is completely dead.
More than the game itself the worst part about watching it was not seeing any communication between the players on the sidelines. None of the players were talking to each other. Nobody using their hands to diagram plays, stunts or moves. The coaches barely talked to the players. The Giants is completely devoid of leadership from the top down.
I could not come up with a better indictment of Joe Schoen’s tenure than this statement by @talkingiants- “The worst run defense in football over the last two years has gotten worse. But Joe Schoen doesn’t make the same mistake twice.”
I’ve never had so much contempt for a player on a team I root for than I do for Darius Slayton. Considering he’s never topped 50 receptions in a single season, he must have a season’s worth of dropped passes by the time he retires.
It’s a footnote because it’s a lost season, but for as much hate that’s been thrown his way (and rightly so), Abdul Carter was outstanding today. Man, I see what the scouts were saying. he plays like this every week man he’ll be better than Parsons in 2 years.
Ownership is completely delusional to think they’re a few pieces away from contention. They need a complete rebuild and overhaul. Maybe starting with the owners themselves.

The unfortunate truth is Chris Mara will take over ownership and Tim will be promoted after Schoen is fired.

No matter what words come out of John Mara’s mouth at the end of season press conference, don’t believe them. He’s lying.
If he gave half a shit about winning, or about the fans – none of these guys would STILL have a job. Instead, it’s not just one of them, it’s all three.
They have always prioritized running the team like a fucking neighborhood candy shop since Wellington ran it into the ground and had to be forced to hand over the reigns. It’s no different with John at the helm.
Until something changes, I’m not giving this team one fucking penny of my money directly. They’ll still get their cut from revenue sharing, because I won’t stop watching football entirely, but I’m done funding this fucking terrorist group.
