Week 15 ‘Who’s the hero?’: Broncos clinch playoff spot, Eagles snap skid | FNIA | NFL on NBC

Woo! The NFC. It is a tight race and some good teams are not going to make the playoffs. All right, it’s time to earn your Sunday presented by Lowe’s. This is our speed round. I want you guys to tell me who is the hero. Let’s start with the Broncos winning their 11th straight game. I think it’s Bo Nicks. Over 300 yards, four touchdowns, zero interceptions. He played phenomenal today. I’ll go with head coach Shawn Payeyton. He is keenly aware, as is any coach who has won a Super Bowl with one team, that no one has ever won a Super Bowl with a second team. and he brings that that offensive genius and with Vance Joseph, they’ve put together a championship caliber defense and look, it’s year three and they pulled it together and they’ve got a great ownership group with unlimited funds and and everything’s rolling. But Payton’s the guy that that is at the center of that and he’s making it all work. The hero DD defense, it’s the Broncos defense. They’ve kept him in all year. I think Bo Knicks is getting on and he’s going to keep getting better throughout the playoffs. But the way this defense has played, the defensive line, their rushing coverage, how they mesh it together, they’re the heroes. Is it the MVP today or the MVP of the season? It’s the hero. The hero. The first team to clinch in the AFC, right? First AFC playoffs. Defense team, man. I agree with you. Defense season. I agree with all you guys. Bo Nicks was phenomenal. Uh the defense has been incredible. I thought Certan’s interception was a huge play in the game. Uh Shawn Payeyton to me uh you know people talk about offensive genius. Um I I think more than that for me with him and I played for him. He’s a good friend of mine. I just think he’s done a great job building the organization, understanding how he wants his team to play, what kind of guys you want to bring in there, what the culture is every day. And and I think what impresses me most about him is he has strong convictions about things. This is what we are. This is how we’re going to play. This is my quarterback. This is what we’re going to do on defense. and the team follows that. They’ve certainly taken on his personality. They’ve been really impressive. All right. What about for the Ravens eliminating the Bengals and shutting out Joe Burrow for the first time in his career. Yeah, I’m going to say the defense for doing exactly that. Anytime you can shut down Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase, zero points. To me, you’re the uh you’re the hero. Two interceptions, three sacks. They made Joe Burrow look mortal today. Lamar Jackson, it finally feels like he’s back. He’s moving like he did before the hamstring injury. He had four touchdown passes on the Thursday night when he came back from the hamstring injury. He had two total touchdown passes in the five games after that. He had two today. So, they’re moving the passing game in the right direction. They’re going to need it if they’re going to catch the Steelers. So, I think Lamar Jackson had a lot to do with it, too. Yeah, I agree with you. I think Lamar Jackson made everybody else around them better. I think it gave the defense a lift to watch him play. I think he was a little bit of their issue in the last few games and not, you know, offensively missing throws, not running the way he used to. So, I think the way he played really got that whole team going. Yeah, we’ve been talking about this word respond really all day long and and think about it. Two weeks ago, Cincinnati goes to Baltimore and destroys the Ravens at their place on Thanksgiving night and and Baltimore responded. And for me, it starts with the defense. Cincinnati has had such big games against Baltimore. Burrow and Chase and all these guys, they’ve dominated them through the years and not today. They went in there and their backs to the wall and they responded the right way. One other thing real quick, too. I got to give them credit for not letting last week’s game stick with them because they got, let’s face it, they got screwed. Three bad calls last week. They know it. They know it. But they put it behind them and they didn’t let one loss become two. What about the Eagles snapping a three-game losing streak? uh the hero the the schedule makers that sent uh the Raiders uh cross country for a one o’clock game with a backup quarterback that the Eagles knew because he spent a year on their team. You think the time you think the time mattered? Yeah, all of it. I mean, all of it. All of it mattered. And the schedule makers were the were the real MVP today. Uh if you want a real answer, how about I’ll say the link. This is the eighth straight win at home in December or later for the Eagles. That is one of the toughest places to play, especially late in the season. Good for the Eagles. Look, it’s it was a bad team. They did what they needed to do, which is take care of business. They took care of business. Brandon Graham retired, came back the middle of October with Jaylen Carter injured. He’s moved inside. He had two sacks today. And the Eagles held the Raiders to 75 total yards of offense. That’s the lowest gained against the Eagles since 1955. It’s lowest output by the Raiders since 1961. And they are a disaster. And I don’t know what they’re going to do. The Eagles needed this though. I said all week, the Eagles need to need to beat the Raiders the way the Chiefs did. And it’s the exact same final score, 31 nothing. Yeah, the the MVP is the Raiders. I mean, the way they played, the way they went out, they’re just And again, I think for the Eagles, as much as everyone’s talking about, they have a sweet spot in the schedule. They played the Raiders. They’re going to play your Commanders twice to end the season. So, I think they’ll be able to look at these games and look at them. They’re not must-wins, but when you turn them into your head mentally and say, “Hey, this is a must-win. we need to go. These are playoff type games. We want to play our best. I think one of the key matchups for this team will be taking on the Buffalo Bills. And if you win that game, I think then they say, “Hey, we’re just we’re the same team we were last year. Let’s go win this thing.” Yeah. Scheduling is real. You know, when you play these teams, you have to take advantage of. And they did that today. They got healthy against a bad football team like we all know. But they had a better look to them. You know, they just had a spirit about him. Quarterback Jaylen looked like he had a good look in his eye. AJ seemed happy. So sometimes that can jump start if you’re down the stretch. Hi, I’m Mike Taro and thanks for watching. 1. Let’s add The packers to the list of BUM teams the Broncos beat ! They beat a 9 win team ?? Not impressive for a 12-2 team 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 BO NIX out played the “ Hottest QB “ in the league apparently. Funny how all those close games Denver won this year really showed in this game. Cool , calm and collected. Mean while GB started getting tight, so go head and keep winning by style points. In the playoffs all the games are tight and I’m going with the team that being resilient in clutch moments!! Put some respect on BO NIX

  2. Lmao “mvp today or season” well im sure your mvp lost today in New England. Its good the guy that had 300 yards and 4 tds against the packers is the 1 seed 🤣

  3. i love how mike florio said that they got screwed…. its true… the look on her face said nobody wanted to talk about it… also the broncos are the team the mainstream loves to hate….. now you'll see em' acting like they were there for the ride all along lol… just watch and enjoy the clown show

  4. Mahomes ALWAYS relied on his ability to extend plays- that is HIS GAME. As he ages his mobility will continue to degrade and has started before this injury. This year he has been an AVERAGE QB- missing easy "layup" passes all year. SORRY but that is a FACT. If he wants to play better, he will have to entirely CHANGE his game- no one knows if he can-he NEVER has played that way. Brady NEVER relied on his mobility and WHY he was able (and still could!) to play so long. Comparing their games could not be more opposite.

  5. No one wants to talk about the Broncos yo last year and this year, the media has been on their knees for the chiefs cowboys and eagles wtf.
