BREAKING: The Minnesota Twins signed a free agent!

Oh my god, they actually did a thing. Uh, Minnesota Twins signed a free agent today. Josh Bell, Josh Bell, come on down. You’re a Minnesota Twin. Uh, a one-year deal with a mutual option. Jeff passing on the deal first. Bobby Nightingale reported a one-year deal with a mutual option. Uh, Josh Bell still a productive hitter. He’s he’s 32 going on or 33 going on 34. Uh but even in just the last two seasons with Washington and Arizona ops plus uh over a hundred um he’s still he’s still solid. He’s still a serviceable player. Last year 22 bombs um yeah like you know they actually signed someone with a pulse. I think that’s obviously a a big one here. So looks like Josh Bell very likely to be your opening day first baseman splitting time maybe with Cody Clemens there uh at first base too. So at least the Twins signed someone. They were one of the last teams to actually sign a free agent. Um I will say defensively Josh Bell not not great. Um was worth negative4 defensive run save before that minus 9. And in his career uh over 7,000 innings at first minus 47 defensive runs saved. But again the bat pretty solid. A good thumping bat there. But the Twins at least acknowledged that they are going to spend some money. And the first guy is Josh

  1. Cody Clemens 2025 WAR was 1.4, Josh Bell 2025 WAR was 0.1. instead trading for Ryan Mountcastle or singing Ryan O'hearn, they signed a player who isn't even better than the man he's replacing, what a shit show!

  3. Also a LH DH bat, so Larnach will certainly be gone. Maybe package Trevor with a younger pitcher for a more ready starting pitcher or a bullpen arm

  4. I like the move. Is it groundbreaking? No. Did we expect a groundbreaking signing? Of course not. Switch hitter will be nice for platooning reasons, though with Rocco gone who knows if that will be as important.
