  1. That was probably the clearest way of saying “Fuck you guys” without saying “Fuck you guys”. Good for him, coming off a massive win and they just want to talk about pressure and Fowler.

  2. The Antichambre cast (don’t remember which ones) were also essentially saying “The pressure doesn’t come from us. There definitely was pressure and he should admit it and say he dealt with it”. Because of course, they know better than the guy himself, and he’s clearly being dishonest /s

  5. I hate the pressure talks, it’s only a thing in Hockey because it’s not a hugely popular sport and players can ”hide” in smaller markets.

There’s pressure in every major leagues, it’s a part of being a pro athlete. There’s pressure by the org, there’s pressure by the media (who are supposed to represent the fans) and there’s pressure from his teammates.

NHL players, even the ones in MTL, don’t have more pressure than any NFL QBs or any Football players outside of NA, it’s bullocks.

  8. He’s a competitor. Winning is the only thing that matters to him, that’s his pressure.

Anybody who thought otherwise was projecting.

  9. There are a subset of media members who think they are experts on how a hockey team or thriving hockey locker room functions – but truly they have not the slightest clue, and on top of it they take things very personally when called out for their crap and for how much players secretly can’t stand them sometimes.

Imagine thinking management putting pressure on their players (aka internal competition and expecting results) is a bad thing. Like holy god damn hell man.

  10. The tale of both Habs teams and how they can play. Saturday they belonged in the AHL and last night they played like we been building for the past 3 years. Problem is they can’t do it 2 games in a row which shows their immaturity.

  11. Talking about pressure when Fowler and him are likely gonna be a tandem that goes together for a long while is strange, Fowler ain’t competition he’s backup for when the nights too rough on dobes, and same the other way for nights when Fowler can’t crack and dobes needs to have his back!

    Great response by dobes!

  12. Same as when they asked Laine this question and he said “only from you guys” (the media)  but had to pretend he was joking even though its true

  13. Love seeing him tell the reporters to basically go fuck themselves with their “pressure” bs. Refreshing to see a player not hold back and give these “journalists” a taste of their own medicine.
