Props to officiating for swallowing their pride, and making the right call. This almost never happens in MLB or NFL.
Man this was such a close call. Amazing shot, amazing block, & fair replay review ref call. 👏 👏💯💜💜💜💜
Even the Refs are confused about that shot. Unfortunately, for Minnesota, the cameras dont lie!

Ref standing right there said no goal from the start. Should have kept playing but they blew the buzzer i guess.
How is the call on the ice a goal when you have the closest ref saying it wasnt a goal the whole time ? Refs cant even agree with each other anymore.

Insane how they don’t get a delay of game penalty
Get more refs on the ice. 50 should do. Still screw up and ruin games. Nhl has a big officiating problem but shhhh! No one's allowed to criticize incompetence anymore.
I believe he had to make the call on the ice a goal initially in order to make it a reviewable play. You can't call for a video review of a shot, but you can review a goal. So even if the ref is pretty sure it hasn't gone in calling a goal allows them to double check.
Similarly to how they'll call a 5 minute penalty sometimes because then they can video review it and change their mind, but if they originally call a 2 minute penalty they can't use video review.
