Kenley Jansen reportedly signs with Tigers! πŸ… (24 saves away from 500 career saves!)

There’s a lot of fact and fiction around this time of year , you know, big foot who cares about the fact. Well, I mean, every once in a while there’s fake fake news, fake news. Every once in a while this, we believe to be real. Kenley Jansen has a reported one year deal to go to Detroit entering its age 38 season. His ascent of the all time saves list continues and he should have plenty of opportunities with a postseason style team and Big kenley has a new uniform for 2026 or so. We think there’s no end in sight for Kenley man and he’s been pretty clear about his stated goal of wanting to amass as many saves as possible. He’s got a real good chance to catch Trevor Hoffman. He’s got Cooperstown. He’s certainly going to pass Lee Smith, I think, but he doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. He actually made a nice adjustment not throwing that cutter every pitch now and he got his V low back a little bit , started throwing the ball pretty good. All right, we’ll see. It’s been an interesting career. What an Odyssey, right. I mean, he’s been the guy. You want him out. He’s been back. And the amazing thing to me when I think about Kinley is, is nobody runs on him. The guy takes forever to throw the ball and nobody runs. Well, he didn’t want anybody at second base. That’s for, that’s for sure. I mean, when he blocks the guy over to third base, it’s, it still delights me because he gets the red aspirin bottle. He does not want Otani at second base. I wanna bo you just go. He’s like, I’m balking. I’m balking. I don’t want him standing there. He’s bothering me. He dropped the ball on purpose. I remember the first time I saw this thought, what the heck, you know, it’s so good and he’s gonna do that in Detroit too. I can’t wait to talk to AJ Hinch about that aspect of what they’re buying and of course, you know where we got the information from? No, his bestie in Chicago is boy. Oh, yeah. We just call him every once in a while and say, hey, what’s Kenley gonna do? Where’s he sign it? And he fills us in. He lets us know.
