BREAKING: The Philadelphia Phillies Land Adolis Garcia

A do le like le hogi. Yes. Oh, love a le. I like le though. Very good. Haven’t had one in a long time. A do. How do you pronounce it? Adoleis. Adoleis. I thought Yeah, that’s what I thought it was. Well, that’s why I’m I but I went I went and I looked at the I was just looking at his at his uh his pro baseball reference and it’s like hold am I saying this wrong cuz phonetically spelled out it says it’s a h d o h l e s I guess odd I don’t know is what how I would say it but you know I also not speak neither am I I speak one language and I barely do that well I would just say this my my question to both of you guys is this if you would not mind me just taking over for one second John is if I want to compare him to Nick Castian and Castian did not live up to what I thought he was going to do as far as his contract is concerned I need power numbers out of that position I that’s the only way that this team is going to compete for a world series is if they can hit home runs at the right time obviously but they have to hit the long ball what is a good number that you can tell me that Garcia is going to hit this upcoming season 240 27 27 home runs. 27 bombs. I I would sign up for that. You’re signing up for 27, right? Yeah. I put him somewhere near the 25 probably. I It’s going to be better than the 19 he hit just cuz he’s playing CBP compared to I’m want to pull this up. Globe Life Park for right-handed bats last year was 24th of the 28 actually major league ballparks that games were played in last year in terms of right-handed hitters putting one and out. So, what’s what Citizens Bank? Uh Citizens Bank was those flower pots. I was going to say plays right down the middle. Yeah, home run. Actually, Sizzbank 11th if you just sort for a home run. So, okay. Yeah, he’ll be I think he’ll be all right. Also, just doing just looking at some stuff during the break. Apparently, he’s very good in right field defensively. And I was reading an article saying despite him struggling at the plate, hasn’t affected him in right field that he’s good right field. He’s got a cannon. Got a good arm. Yeah, got a good arm. And believe it or not, we’re allowed to have a guy in right field where the outs above average are actually above average where they’re actually positive. It’s only one, but but as far as as far as offensively, I mean, Castianos was when he was hot, he was good. Yep. When he wasn’t, he’d swing it. You rolled a bowling ball up there, he’d swing at it. This is definitely going up against the uh the grain with this signing, too. Remember all the things that were being said last year about this team and the everything being put together? You’re rolling the dice here. I love it. Let’s go. Let’s get crazy. Yeah. Not a lot of free agent outfield bats. That that was that was the bottom line. I mean, when when we looked at the list, it was a lot of was like, man, there’s not really anybody you can get. And then you’re wondering, okay, is he going to trade for an out? But trading for an outfielder of any consequence, you would have to trade one of your one of your young players, which they didn’t want to do. Yeah. So, I guess this is the And then if it doesn’t work out, you have the trade deadline. You can get this year’s Bader, you get this year’s whoever. You have to factor that into. Yeah. Yeah. Then we’re going to go into this season either with a hole at third base with Kemp being your third baseman or a potential hole in the outfield with not knowing. And so it’s that’s probably how you’re going to go into this season. Pretty entertaining off seasonason so far. The stove is hot, right? Yeah, it really really has been. Mets are doing some letting some guys lead. Interesting things. I think they’re trying to reset some of the culture up there. Good luck because they’re two biggest players as far as the contractor is concerned. I would imagine define the culture. And how much can you complain about Sodto? I am anti- Juan Sodto, but he shut me up a lot last year. He’s a good player. Yeah, he put up some decent numbers. What does the lineup look like right now for the Bills? I mean, does doesn’t he just kind of take Casianos’s uh spot? That was my view as well. So, he takes Castiano’s spot, but Castianos was batting like seventh by the time we got I I I think it depends on how he’s you know what I mean, like how’s he hitting. It was like that with Castanos. They would move him up if needed when there was injuries or he was playing well. I would have to look at Garcia the same way. And and if he’s if he’s hot, he’s not your cleanup hitter. You can’t have him batting with that that lack of plate discipline. You can’t have him hitting behind Harper, which would leave Boom back at the cleanup spot. That’s where I was coming back to here. Like, okay, we wanted the right-handed bat. Nice. They got a right-handed bat that could take the Castiano spot here. But um I look, the one word that I’m seeing out in the timeline, boys, upgrade. That’s just if if there’s one theme that I’m seeing from this signing, it’s upgrade. Well, again, what you were going from with Castanos, correct? Right. He he was I mean there’s a reason why they’re going to give him away for nothing. A guy that was the 2023 ALCS MVP was always going to be the upgrade from Castiano. Cassi’s like I’ll play first anywhere. Yeah. Sign me. They’re not running it back. I know a lot of people were worried about that as well. This this clearly is different, right? Okay. Yeah. Hey, look. You give me 27 bombs, I sign up right now. Let’s go. Nothing less though. Nothing less. Well, yeah. I mean, you would hope. 25 is as low as I’ll go. But Kepler also this year you were expecting more power out of Kepler and he had his moments later on in the season. Yeah. For the most part everybody wanted to release him. I was surprised he made it through September. Yep. We were

  1. This is not a "splash." Trading for Tatis would have been a splash. This is same sh*t, different year. RH Kepler. In fact, this guy had sub-.700 OPS the last two years. Worse than Casty in all offensive categories. Better defense, sure. But .665 OPS? LOL. Plus he chases just as much if not more than Nick. I mean, this is garbage.

  2. Get the guy in the eagles jersey outta here dude, weve died by the long ball 4 straight years, we need guys who can hit the ball and get on base. Regular season and post season, not swinging for the fences and wiffing at everything
