Bellinger to Mets?

I can’t see any way that Bellinger isn’t the enormous winner here. The Mets now need Bellinger. The Yankees, I think, clearly expected Bellinger to come back. Everyone knows Bellinger loved his year with the Yankees. But hey, if somebody turns around and gives him a lot more money and a lot better terms, you think he’s going to turn it down now? Now, he’s going to hit more home runs in the Bronx than he is in Queens. We all know that and he knows that. But he fits the Mets bill in a big way. And everything I’ve heard this afternoon is that the Mets are going after Bellinger.

  1. Grisham accepting the qualifying offer may have killed any chance of Yankees bringing back Bellinger. Not that I’m absolving Cashman, but no one thought Grisham would take that offer, coming off a career year. I don’t think Hal will spend what it will take to bring back Bellinger. Hopefully I’m wrong.
