  1. VJ looking real good. I’m happiest about his 3 point shot. Supposed to be a weakness of his but he’s been shooting it pretty good this season. Sky’s the limit with his athleticism.

  2. He looks so at ease out there. It’s like he’s playing in slow motion. When he gets a chance to be the focal point, he’s going to blow up.

  3. These few games without Maxey has helped his development move along a bit faster. He is asked to handle more and create and has been looking good

  4. VJ looked great, I agree but people are misinterpreting why he looked great: Catch-and-shoot 3’s. One-two dribble drives. Limited difficulty and not asking him to create from the top.

He’s not someone we should be funneling the ball to, he’s someone we should be CREATING for. He’s a shot maker, not a shot creator. Just because someone makes the shot, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the same thing as shot creation.

(Not that it hasn’t gotten better, but I’d rather VJ play off-the-catch and off-the-move, as opposed to him handling in traffic.)

  5. This kinda pisses me off because if he was this aggressive all season he would be the run away favorite for ROY right now

  6. hm. 3s weren’t supposed to be this good this soon. Also has had some really impressive defensive sequences this year. and we already knew he could jump out of the gym.

imagine if he gets a fraction of the maxey improvement trajectory

  7. I’ve been saying this all season about VJ.

He’s a ball hawk. Crunch time loose balls just seems to wind up in his hands. This is something that is very hard to develop. Either you got it or you don’t. He’s got it.

Other things can be gained through practice and experience. I’ve no worries about him developing his handles, shot, IQ, playmaking, shot creation, etc because that comes with experience and hard work.

I super surprised with his shooting. I would have been happy with 36% on 3.5 attempts. He’s above league average on high volume. That’s even with that shooting slump a couple of weeks ago.
