Adolis vs Castellanos Defensive stats.

  1. In 2024 Alodis’s stats were far worse, however.

Hoping he stays defensively sound and gets his offense back but man… I dunno

  2. It’s so hilarious to me that basically the only thing defensive stats can agree on and are consistent about year to year is that Nick Castellanos is fucking horrible.

  3. I mean, really? Yeah, he’s a tick better defensively, but right field defense isn’t why they’ve made early exits from the playoffs the last few years, it’s because no one can play offense when it matters and Garcia is far worse offensively. This is a signing because they want to split from Castellanos and his issues with topper/front office, they need a warm body to take his place, but won’t shell out for an actual upgrade

  4. When we discuss Castellanos defensive metrics, I think it’s important to recognize that when he was signed, he wasn’t supposed to be our everyday right fielder. That was Harper. The DH came to the NL so it was supposed to be a rotation of dudes who need a day off from playing the field, but mainly a rotation of Casty, Schwarber, and Rhys. Then Harp injured his throwing arm what… 6 weeks later? That changed eeeeeverything.
