REPORT: Mets MASSIVE TRADE Rumors | New York Mets | Mason Miller | Mets News | Mets Hot Stove | MLB

What’s up Mets fans? Welcome back to the channel as we’re getting reports that the New York Mets are shifting focus on the trade market in regards to Mason Miller and Luis Robert Jr. This is something that we’ve heard rumors about in regards to the big Padre type of deal, but we’re getting a little bit more information of what the Mets are trying to do here to obtain Miller and possibly Luis Robert Jr. Obviously, these will be two different trades, but it all correlates together in regards to prospects names being involved and what the Mets are trying to do to offset the prospect hole it would probably take to acquire Mason Miller. So, starting with Mason Miller because that is the big name. That is the the guy you want to pair with Devin Williams. It it just makes too much sense. He’s got numerous years of control left. pairing him with Devin Williams, you probably have one of the better onet twos in the back end of your bullpin in baseball. And you would think the Mets clearly are focusing in on that on Mason Miller because of how they screwed up the Edwin Diaz situation as they did want Edwin Diaz back, but they allowed an opening for him to go to the Los Angeles Dodgers. So, starting with Mason Miller, they’re trying to offset a few of the prospects that they would have to give up. And by doing that, what does that entail? That entails taking on somewhat or most likely a bad contract that the Padres’s have on their payroll. And we can go through a numerous amount of names, but the one guy that stands out is this guy, and that is Xander Bogarts. Obviously, Xander Bogart’s contract is, you know, a problem on the Padres’s payroll. He’s declining for sure offensively and probably defensively as well. He’s still got a tremendous contract that is a problem for any team that keeps him or obtains him. You know, signing that 11-year $280 million deal in 2023 and he’s got a tremendous amount of years left all the way until 2033 at the age of 40 is the last year of that contract and it’s it’s over $25 million a year. Now, the concerning part is is he is declining somewhat. He he’s not as good as the defender. The offense is worrisome with all those years left. But are the Mets willing to take on a bad contract for many years? And it’s a lot of years left. I mean, it’s it’s seven years left on that contract. and would they be willing to take that bad contract to obtain Mason Miller and to give up less prospects? Now, some people would say, “Well, you just traded Brandon NMO on a bad contract to save a couple of years for Simeon on a bad contract, but you’re going to obtain uh more years on a bad contract and a guy who might be dwindling in both areas of the field and offense and defense. That is concerning. But you know what? You can he’ll be your left fielder, right? The Mets have holes in the outfield. You know, you put Bogarts in left field, you’re thinking about Carson Benj in center most likely, it offsets a couple of the holes that you’ll have right now that we currently have in this off season. But would that make sense? Instead of giving three pro or two big prospects for Mason Miller alone, does taking on that bad contract of Xander Bogarts do does David Sterns thinks that Bogarts is worth that bad contract offensively and defensively? I don’t know. I don’t want to take that bad contract just to offset maybe an extra prospect. Like if you take three prospects to get Mason Miller, so be it. So be it. He’s got a great arm under control. Why not? He’ll be your closer for the next couple of years. You you’ll pair with Deon Williams, which would be one of the best back ends of of the bullpen in baseball. Do it. You know, the prospect cover situation is just annoying at this point. I don’t see the Mets at this point trade in a tremendous amount of prospects for Terry Scooel. So, use some of these assets to get a top closer who’s under control for very cheap, I might add. Other names that you can see has bad contracts, Jake Cronin worked, but the Mets have so many so many infielders. I don’t see that happen. That’s why Xander Bogart makes the most sense for the New York Mets, even if it is a bad contract. Even if he isn’t the same offensive player and probably the same defensive player at this point, would you be willing to do that as he’s under team control under contract for until 20 33 at 40 years old? He is already 33 years old. You know, the Mets are adding to their older roster. Let’s be honest, even if Carson Benge becomes our center fielder, even if Brandon Sprro, if he’s still on this team, possibly being on this roster with Alvarez, like and Batty at third base, it it’s an older team. You know, we already have an older up the middle. You know, the younger one is in his prime is Juan Sto. You know, who knows gonna be the first baseman. You know, you brought in Palanco who isn’t young either. So you you’re getting shorter term deals for most of your guys that are already on the roster that are older and then you’re adding a 33 year old with so many years left of his contract and Xand the Bogarts. I mean you’re looking at a lot of guys that could potentially fall offensively and defensively if not this year definitely in 2027 and that is concerning. But are you willing to do it or at least in this case is David Sterns willing to do it? And clearly he is. David Serge would rather have a dwindling player a bad contract to save on prospects and that frustrates me. Now am I going to cry about it if we save a prospect and Jenna Bogarts is here? No. I mean, Bogarts could be, I would say, pretty good because I do think Jorge Palano offensively kind of replaces the NMO production. 25 home runs. His RBI’s aren’t as high as NMO, but I think they see him as a NMO replacement production-wise offensively. Xander Bogarts isn’t replacing Peter Lonzo’s production. Now, if you look at it when if you bring in Xander Bogarts, maybe the Mets bring in another bat as we’ll talk about in just a second. Can they offset the production of Allonzo with Bogarts and let’s say a Luis Robert Jr. that we’ll be talking about in just a second? I don’t know. I think that’s probably what they’re looking at. You do spread out your lineup a little bit, but these guys also have to perform. Luis Robert hasn’t had a good season in a couple of years. He looked better in the second half last year, but he’s not. And the White Socks are willing to take uh add some cash to that deal as well. So, it won’t be $20 million, but it will be maybe $15 million. And is Sterns willing to do that as well? Well, it seems like that. So, when it comes to Mason Miller, Xander Boga seems like the logical choice to take to use as a bad contract to offset the prospect call that would be going back for Mason Miller. I’m thinking two prospects instead of the possible three. Maybe you can get away with one if the Padres’s are really desperate of taking on that getting rid of that entire contract of Xander Bogarts. That is something to be very interested and watch out for. That is it seems to be picking up steam here especially the Padres’s rumor in regards to Mason Miller. Now, does that does that mean that you just get Xander Bogards, you don’t get Nick Pavetta involved in that as well? Because you do can take that contract as well. I don’t I mean that that’s a hall. If you can give up two prospects and you can get Mason Miller who would be a closer, Xander Bogas who play left field and Nick Paveta to fill in that rotation as the Mets seem to be out on Michael King. Well, now you’re talking about three guys that completely fit on your roster now and that makes sense. Would that be the case here? Yet to be determined, but it does make a lot of sense that you can take a ton of money off the Padres’s payroll and you get a starter in this rotation that’s could be a solid number two, but definitely a great number three in Paveta and Xander Bogarts who is, you know, is a serviceable good player. It’s just that he is 33 years old. When it comes to Luis Robert Jr., the Mets have been involved and linked to Luis Robert Jr. for two years now, especially this past trade deadline. It just seemed likely that Luis Roberts is going to be a New York Met. I don’t see that stopping anytime soon. And with the reports today that the Mets are likely or poss or looking like they could trade Mark Ventos like he is probably going to get traded, especially with the Jorge Palano sign in Ventos. We know the White Socks like Mark Ventos. That’s the fact. Can they do a one for one split where the White Sox are adding a little bit of cash? It won’t be $20 million to offset for Luis Robert. You can get him for maybe $15 million, maybe even a little bit less. And give Mark Ventos in that trade. Now you have a center fielder. Now you don’t have to rush Carson Ben. If Carson Benj becomes a guy that shows up in spring training and you want to give him the job in center field, Luis Robert Jr., could he put him in left field? Maybe you can put Carson Benj in left field and you can figure out what you’re going to do with Bogarts because there’s a lot of, you know, there’s so many guys. That’s why with the Bogart situation and getting Luis Robert Jr. is odd because you kind of block Carson Benj now. Will Carson Benj go in a deal for Mason Miller? That is something to be determined. We don’t know the guys the prospects that would be involved in the Mason Miller trade. I doubt it would be Carson Bench, but if you get Luis Robert Jr. even though he’s on this one-year deal with Xander Bogatz in left field. Where is Benj fit into this mix for the New York Mets? So, there’s so many different options here, but it does seems I think what’s more likely is the Mason Miller trade. I think the Mets are focused. I think they really screwed up the Edwin Diaz thing. They know they screwed up the Edwin Diaz thing. can’t say you really want Edwin Diaz and leave the opportunity open for the Dodgers to swoop in and take him away and piss off Edwin Diaz enough during these meetings that you had with him that he didn’t even bother to come back to you for a counter offer. So, I think Mason Miller is a real serious possibility. It’s just a matter of who is going to be with Mason Miller coming to the New York Mets. Could it be Xander Bograts on that bad contract? Could it also be Nick Paveta? That is something that is yet to be determined. We know all the names that are involved that were talked about a few days ago in regards to the Padres’s. That is something to be watchful for over the next 24 to 48 hours. The Padres’s possible trade is picking up steam. Lot of rumors today, a lot of reports today about that. And then with the Mark Ventos likely possibly being traded and Luis Robert Jr. once again being linked to the New York Mets. It seems inevitable that Mason Miller is going to be a New York Met. It seems inevitable that Luis Robert Jr. is going to be a New York Met. But what is going back specifically in the Padres’s deal? Is Carson Benge being a part of that deal because of what you would bring in Xander Bogarts and Luis Robert Jr.? So much to be determined yet, but so many reports to talk about. And these two seem to be picking up steam a lot more, especially over the last 24 hours, considering the fact that the Mets are out on Michael King. That could lead to Paveta being part of that Padres’s deal as well. And looking at the fact that the Mets don’t seem like they’re going after Cody Bellinger, don’t seem they’re going after Kyle Tucker and likely out on Michael King. These trades make the most sense. Instead of paying all these guys on the free agent market, you can get them in a trade with Miller, Luis Robert Jr., the possible of Zen and Bogarts on that bad contract and maybe even Nick Paveta and you kill a lot of birds with many stones or at least one stone, couple of stones. You’ll definitely fill Rosa spots that you definitely need. But is it all worth it? Let me know in the comments, guys, what you think of these possibilities of Luis Robert Jr., Mason Miller, Nick Pavetta, Xander Bogarts possibly being New York Mets fairly shortly. I think it could happen very, very soon. Guys, let me know in the comments, guys, what you think of what you would do with these prospects and the possible trade for these guys. I want to thank you guys for watching and as always, Met fans, let’s go Mets.

  1. I don’t want glass jaw Robert’s jr. he got knocked out by j-ram. He hasn’t been the same player since. N Tyrone has elite defense already. Get our new hitting coach to fix his bat n we will have a serviceable centerfielder til benge is ready

  2. Xander is a candidate for a mechanical fix to get him back to being a good hitter

    But

Contract is horrific. Prospects are not that valuable when we're talking about this type of money. Trade your prospects if you're going to get a massive return and are kind of forced to take on a bad contract. That said, I would heavily have advise against taking on that contract. Just because I believe he's a candidate for a mechanical fix to get him back to a good hitter, doesn't mean that's a guarantee. Whereas his contract is guaranteed and anyone who takes it is screwed if he doesnt fix his issues (mostly poor barrel rate, which is vital)

  3. Did you guys hear that the three teams for the finalist for Kyle Tucker are the Blue Jays Dodgers and Mets? Will sammon also said the Mets are in on Tucker.

  4. So pivetta has 3 years 51 million left pretty reasonable for 32 year old front of the rotation type. Bogarts is 8 years 200 plus million, that’s not a good contract. Trade proposal:
SD gets sproat, tong, Williams, Clifford, Marcus simien
NYM get miller, pivetta, morejon and bogarts.
