George isn’t already on his new contract, is he? He’s in the 4th year of his rookie contract.
Seems like Jones is still getting pressure but has lost speed and can’t finish for the sack.
And?
Football players make a lot of money, yes. It’s because they have to be in the top 0.01% of athletes, they have to dedicate most of their waking lives while they are playing to staying in top shape and learning their craft as they go, and they put their bodies and health at immense physical risk while doing so. Not even mentioning the supply and demand aspect, where people simply want the best quality football all the time.
Chris gets double teamed all the time it’s on the rest of the line to beat there man and get to the QB well Chris gets all the attention. I’ll admit Jones is not Garrett or Watt but he is also making 10 million less a season then those guys.
This is why imo we have to go DL with our first pick. Peter Woods or Keldrick Faulk would be my wish
Yes Chris isn’t living up to his contract and is only getting older but he’s our best d-lineman by far. And Karlaftis is the only other starting caliber player on the d-line. That’s why I’m leaning d-line with our 1st round pick.
I get by Chris standards its not a great year, but he is working with guys who get zero pressure when hes not on the field. Additionally I’ll just be in the fucking ground before I shit talk this man after the games he has had in the playoffs.
Jones at least gets pressure karlaftis I don’t what he does
This is commentary on the rest of the garbage ass DL that they put together
I don’t think either contract is that much of an issue. Remember, sacks aren’t everything. Jones’ is large but he was worth all that money when he signed and is still the highest impact player on our DL. Karlaftis has struggled to finish sacks but is the only other guy who can consistently generate pressure. Plus he’s young and has a lot of room to improve.
The real problem is paying JAGs like Danna, Omenihu, and Tillery to do absolutely fucking nothing. Also the FAU pick is hands down the worst pick of Brett Veach’s entire career. He needs to rectify those mistakes by drafting a 1st round pass rusher, then cutting Danna for $9M in cap savings and giving that money to a guy who can actually get home (Dremont Jones is available and only cost $8.5M last season).
Chris is still good. He still generates a ton of pressure
::stands around::
Jones is the one who’s supposed to get pressure. He does. Where’s a D-End for a sack when you need it. Karlaftis should have 10 or more. Omenihu should have more. Those dudes were signed to get the sacks when Jones flushed em out of the pocket.
While i do understand the point your trying to make elite dt don’t get lots of sacks majority at best get 5 hell the leading leader for dt is Simmons’s with 9 then the average of the rest is 5-6.
And for George while he average should absolutely be 10 him having 6 is fine as he is not paid to be a number 1 pass-rusher he paid as a 2 plus he gets lots of pressure so i think if we can get some one to be his partner in crime (hopefully a speed rusher) those pressures should translate to more sacks at least for the other guy.
With this being said this goes into the teams biggest issue with that being the dline as a whole no one outside of George or cj can get pressure and when they do there no clean up from the other guys. To me that the bigger issue rather than gk or cj.
I’m gonna be sick
I got chided for suggesting George be allowed to leave post rookie deal.
We need to get rid of Jones and Kelce.
Spend that money on the O Line.
Draft a good Running Back.
And then try to improve the defense as much as we can.
But O line is the priority. Otherwise we are having Machines and we play like we have Mariotta.
Worst part is that CJ has tried getting a sack so badly in most of these games that he’s given up contain for a lot of big plays
Honestly 11 solo tackles for Jones is more shocking to me. I know he’s not the greatest run defender but damn, that’s really bad for someone who plays as many snaps as he does.
Fuck outta here with this nit picking. George and Chris are monsters – if you wanna pry open the roster look at the secondary or get more help to back these two up but I will hear ZERO Jones/Karlaftis chiding 😂 these “fans” kill be lol I saw somebody trying to call Trent washed – my dude he’s only in his third year chill. These Day Trading fans that are ready to call a player “over” after a slight flicker is nuts.
Feel like every post on here wants to attack every player except the weapons that haven’t shown up all year. The defense have kept their end of the deal all year. Every week i watched the same game it feels like. Runs for 2 yards, and perfect throws dropped.
Trade CJ95 and see what you can get for him. I said it before and I’m saying it now, he should have NEVER gotten paid what he did. That’s one of the biggest fails in recent Chiefs history.
Everybody is terrible and we canmake up better players to pay less?
In a row??
No way Jones play with a monster cap hit next year and could you imagine him and Peter woods
Meanwhile, Myles Garrett only costs $1.86M per sack…

DLine Coach gets very limited heat for the money that has been spent there.
54 million isnt that bad between two players. That number is only going to go up each free agency for D line players
