I guess 13 really is an unlucky number. This was the 13th time in history that a player made at least 12 three pointers. And it occurred on 12/14/25, where 25 is 13+12.

It was Steph Curry's fifth time to hit 12 threes in a game, making him the oldest player to accomplish this feat by five years.

In attendance but not playing was Damian Lillard, one of only seven other humans to achieve this feat, and the only person to do so while also scoring 70+ points.

Also in attendance was Kris Murray, the twin brother of Keegan Murray, who is another of the seven men to have made 12 threes in a game.

Fun fact: Zach LaVine and Donovan Marshall are the only players from non-west-coast teams to hit 12 threes in a game. Marshall (not Mitchell! I had to do a double take) did it in 2005, but Kobe Bryant was the first to ever do it, way back in 2003.

This was the first time any player has ever hit 12 or more threes against Portland.

  1. Well, its actually not the first game like this. First reg season maybe. Because we all there know why

  2. Damn, I remember watching that Donyell Marshall game. That dude would thrive in today’s game.

  3. Remember a few years ago when Dame put up 50+ points or something and we still lost? Pepperidge Farms remembers.

  4. CORRECTION: This was the first time in *regular season* history that a player had 12+ threes in a loss. But actually there was also a playoff game where it happened: the infamous 2OT game at Denver in the 2021 NBA Western Conference First Round Game 5, in which Damian Lillard of the Blazers made 12 threes in a valiant comeback attempt yet the rest of his team went ice cold and Portland still lost. This particular game led to a chorus of media people chanting that Lillard should leave Portland.
