  1. I was in China for this season and so hyped about getting AK47 even he was washed up. This waa also AP/AD’s MVP season and I couldn’t catch any of it. Just YouTube highlights on a very slow vpn.

  2. I went to a game against OKC with my son, who was about 10 at the time, I think the following season. Kevin Durant absolutely went nuclear in the 4th quarter breaking a close game open, scoring 48 total. My son’s summary of the game was “The Wolves were winning then Kevin Durant happened.” He was just scoring at will, even when well-defended. Peak Durant was unstoppable.

  3. I know it’s a punchline but this team wasn’t THAT bad – I think Rubio and KLove only played 3 games together that year, and either one probably could’ve been an all-star save for injuries. Brandon Roy was supposed to be a big part of the squad but was hurt after just a couple weeks and subsequently retired.

    They still won 31 games…

  4. I started watching the NBA 14 years ago, and back then every team had one or two superstars and three okay-ish role players. The overall skill level has risen so much since then that those role players wouldn’t even sniff the end of the bench today. Someone like Bones, who was almost out of the league and got a partially guaranteed contract in September, would have been a fifth or sixth man on a contender back then. Perkins, Sefolosha, Ridnour, and Shved wouldn’t have any chance to play in the modern NBA. Probably even Pekovic – he’s basically a heavier Sabonis who can’t pass and can’t shoot.

  5. I loved Pek. And I was told Shved had a super high ceiling; he clearly didn’t reach that ceiling.

  6. Pekovic was an absolute bruiser! Loved watching him play. Unfortunately, he just could never stay healthy after we signed him to that big contract. At least us sucking lead to getting KAT

  7. I still remember the absurdity of Alexi Shved’s skinny ass guarding Dwayne Wade 1-on-1 and getting absolutely demolished every time.

The David Kahn era of wolves basketball needs to be investigated by the FBI for point shaving and gambling as far as I’m concerned.

  8. Someone actually wrote a Star Tribune op-ed about this team suggesting the front office intentionally signed mostly white guys 😭😭

  9. I remember being so hopeful in those days. Little did I know how naive I was. I really thought pek and love were gonna be the most dominant frontcourt in the league

  10. I thought this team was going to be the beginning of greatest for the Organization lolol Brandon Roy made it like 3 weeks

  11. There was a photoshopped pic of the logo that used Klan hoods instead of trees from this era and I so wish I could find it
