Manchester United were forced to settle for a point in their Premier League clash with Bournemouth. An eight-goal thriller saw the points shared in a 4-4 draw at Old Trafford on Monday night.

United had a lead at half-time thanks to goals from Amad Diallo and Casemiro, with Antoine Semenyo on the score sheet for the visitors.

Bournemouth then took the lead in the opening minutes of the second half with goals from Evanlison and Marcus Tavernier. United then regained the lead with strikes from Bruno Fernandes and Matheus Cunha, only for Bournemouth to equalise once again through Eli Junior Kroupi.

The result leaves United in sixth place in the Premier League table, level on points with seventh-placed Liverpool, as they continue their quest to qualify for the Champions League.

United’s next fixture will see them travel to face Aston Villa at the weekend, in what will be their first match since several players depart to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations.
