Braves Sign Ha-Seong Kim!
The Atlanta Braves bring back shortstop Hassan Kim on a one-year $20 million deal to be the Braves everyday shortstop. Jake Mastriani here from Lockdown Braves. And look, it’s a deal we’ve all, you know, thought was possible for the Atlanta Braves after they brought in Hassan Kim at the midway point of last season. He liked his time here. It made sense. The Braves need a shortstop upgrade. It is a little bit expensive at $20 million for one year and was starting to hope for a little bit more than Hong Kim. Look, it’s going to be better than what the Braves have had the previous three seasons at shortstop. No doubt about that. So, it certainly can’t be too upset about the signing, but it is a good chunk of change for for one year. But, it just means there most likely wasn’t anything else the Braves could get done at shortstop this season. Allows them to, you know, continue to evaluate Kim and maybe look for something else next off season or hopefully one of their prospects will take a big step forward. We’ll talk more about this on the next episode of a locked on braves.
The Atlanta Braves sign shortstop Ha-Seong Kim for 1-year, $20M.

If this isn’t an emergency pod you’re never gonna get to do one Jake
SHOCK!
was hoping for Seager
Awesome
Can we immediately negotiate an extension for 2 with a 3rd option or 3 with a 4th?
I think the 1 year deal was because of the strike the following year.
Dang 20 for year lol
Was hoping it would have been a cheaper deal
Welcome back to ATL, HS Kim!
Fighting!
😂😅😂😅
Unsure how to feel about this. It's only one year. It's expensive. He's better than what they had. But, I would have liked someone younger signed for longer. Then again, there wasn't much to choose from. 🤷♂️
We won against Boras! Another SHOCK!
Awesome Kim is BACK!
Jake. So we are in same boat next year. The only way to look at 20mil is you are paying for the salary and the draft pick when he declines qualifying offer after 2026
This is the type of deal I said I was ok, with, as it's a high AAV deal on just 1 year, thus is limits the risk factor.
Killed it. Couldn't ask for more honestly. Im blown away.
He is injury prone so 1 year is not a bad deal
Bad move. Won't spend big on good players but spend big on bleh players.
I’m really excited but it seems like Boras squeezed every penny possible out of the Braves
🙌
I'm surprised he only signed for a year
Alex Lodise coming 2027
Hope he produces I got my doubts but I agree couldn't do much else
Thinking Yaz/Dibon/Kim is going to make this lineup better, especially after losing a big bat in Ozuna, is foolhardy. I had hoped for a bigger splash, as it sounds like Jake. If we have 2 or 3 bounce back years, we are gold, but these, in themselves, doesn’t improve this lineup substantially.
Absolutely great signing. It's only cash and no draft pick lost.
Great, another 230-240 hitter
I like it
Everyone saying AA is cheap can chill.
Sick!! I love the short term deal to lock up the offense. You gotta assume there’s still 8-15 mill for another quality pen arm or two
20M? Well, good luck 、Braves
Pumped to see what he’ll done for a full season. Nick Allen’s defense was amazing but he was an auto-out
DIDN'T WIN VS BORAS! $16M OPTION VS $20M RETURN! I WOULD SAY BORAS/KIM WON! A BIT OF OVERPAY TO ME! BUT WELCOME BACK TO THE "A"! SEAGER?
Overpaid garbage.
Woohoooo!!!
What no options?
Let’s go Alex Lodise 2027!!
