  1. Based on these estimates and assuming no additional moves are made that affect the margin (easy assumption), we are likely looking at another .500 ball club battling to get to 90 wins and in contention for another division title. Pretty much the same story of the last 5 years.

  2. Hard to get excited for next year when all we have done this off season is acquire a few surgically repaired pitching arms, hoping to hit a lottery ticket on one of them. Last we saw of Lane Thomas he could barely walk let alone run, and he still received a 5 million dollar contract. Looks like the same roster as last year is in play, how much longer can we win with smoke and mirrors? Hope is slowly fading.

  3. Two things can be both true: bots are never going to favor teams built like the Guardians, but at the same time Guardians have to stop relying on outperforming projections and add some solid players whose productivity can be counted on.

  4. Gimme a platoon RF and an everyday 2B or CF…and a name above ‘Sabrowski’ on that relief pitching hierarchy.

Honestly the bullpen scares me the most as of December 16th. At least CDL/Kayfus/Valera/Brito/Bazzana are interesting at those weak lineup spots.

  5. This is actually a fairly good projection compared to what you would expect, especially on the offensive end. The position player WAR would have ranked middle of the pack in 2025, and a league average offense would be a dream after the lass half decade.

My nitpicks would be they have Fry exclusively as a DH even though he’s likely to return to a UTIL role, and that they have the far better 1B defender in the DH pile instead of Manzardo.

  6. I know you’re not supposed to do this but:

If you add up our lineup you get 18.5 WAR. 21.0 for Detroit and 24.3 for KC.

    Rotation: 12.7 CLE, 11.9 KC, 15.3 DET

    Pen: 3.9 CLE, 3.5 KC, 3.5 DET

We’ll see where it shakes out, but I doubt folks around here are going to be too pleased with the projections of the standings when they get released.

  7. I’m hoping that Fry can also play right field occasionally. I’d also like (if he’s going to play) to see Nolan Jones in center. His bat looks a lot less bad in center.

  8. When the dodgers are predicted for 7.8 combined from their outfield…I feel like 5.2 for us would be amazing. Even if Kwan is 2/3 of it.
