NHL Highlights | Islanders vs. Red Wings – December 16, 2025
And in his time here, the Wings have garnered 95 points, sixth most by an Eastern Conference team since his arrival December 26th of last year. >> They'll take it in one season of 82 games. >> Deal from Montreal. Carried back into the zone by Truan. Stopped by Gibson. That shot went wide. Back to the line. kept in by Pock in for Druan and grabbed by Gibson. Daniela Bruce Islanders carry in dropped back for D'Angelo and a save there by Gibson and as comes back to Cider. Just bobbled it. Took the shot. JUST WENT WIDE OFF THE BACKBOARDS out front. Oh, and a bouncing puck popped over three Redwing sticks. Finny had the last chance. Couldn't knock it down. Larkin had gone heavily into the boards. Here's Barcel back and they score. Great shot number 51 Eminan with his 11th goal. >> He had the shootout winning goal Saturday over Tampa. He had two in the first meeting against Detroit. Has another one here to make it one- nothing. Well, those bad bounces may have cost him, but there's three guys back. This play is not supposed to happen. It's three on three. And Heineman, now mind you, that's a that's a fairly long distance shot. He did get a lot on it, but when it's threeon three, a guy shouldn't have that kind of an opportunity. >> 35year-old Pio across, knocked in by Travis Mitchell in behind for Lee, saved by Gibson. Lee will be a pending unrestricted free agent end of the season >> and settles the puck at center. >> Eight goals for him this year. Back with it is Travis Mitchell >> in his ninth NHL game >> for the Michigan native ahead here for Declare and the shot whistled wide just kept into the point by Schaefer. Then he had it stolen. Here's the Brinken. He's in shooting one and a save by Siroka. Leonard tried to get it in front off the glass. Sherro and it goes. LEONARD PLAYED ACROSS AND A SAVE MADE BY Siroken on Cop. Lead pass for Marquette. Swept away by Edmonson. Picked up by Sikas. Castro carry in. Stick stop there. Back in by Cider coming in. Edmonson took the hit. Danielson Soderblong taken away by Adam Pelock behind the net for D'Angelo closing the gap. Cider knocked down here off the change for the Islanders. Room for Edmonson and a fixed off again by Soka. >> And they're coming into this game with two consecutive days off with no practice. kicked away by the Islanders net minder. Played back in >> as well. And Matthew Schaer has done that, guys. >> Thank you, Danielle. off the draw and a quick shot to break it right off the faceoff held by Siroken and rookie season comparison through the first 33 games. But Cider as a Calder Trophy winner is two and a half years older than Schaefer. That shot save made by Troken. deciding what to do with it. Still wondering. Raymond goes back. Edmonson across. Finny a shot. Cha. Little stutter step trying to get around John Leonard. Shot loose in front for Lee. And a save by Gibson. Good stop and a good play. God bless him. What Aussie hasn't seen is Trevor Thompson imploding on the ice when nobody's within 75 ft of him. >> Working away from Pasio. John Leonard cut to the line and out or hand pass called De Branket through his skates for Cop. Perfect feet. Here's Leonard. SAVE MADE REBOUND. God >> and just wide. >> Oh my. And it looked like he might have tried to go five hole. He's got control. Looks up and Siroken was just too soft. Oh, there's too many men. No, it's not. >> Hold hold holding it in off the goal post. Shot there by Holmstrom. Holstrom off the iron. hold his own with that just like he did in the fight. And uh yeah, the respect that those two teams had for each other once the Tom Foolery was gone. That's been pretty close in offensive zone time. The Red Wings with a slight edge through two periods. Here's Sandine Pelica right TO THE NET. HE SCORES. IT'S A 1-1 TIE. THE rookie run off the face off. They got away with it. And that's why Pelica was able to run down the right side. And how he found that top corner only he knows. And maybe Sroken right behind him. Holy smoke. He left that goal post and that's exactly where you can beat these guys if you have the opportunity yet surveys great space gets it back from Cider into Larkin skate the stick Raymond >> Cider to Brinket fires SCORES brink it's two to much from my angle he went glove side >> right hand shot left wing he is so comfortable over there >> the fly by screen too yeah well in this one now it is far side and screaming about goalie interference >> it was Penny for Brinken with his 19th goal >> and 12 points state. >> Here's Rasmusen. Save made. >> Oh my god. >> And it goes for Rasmus trying to fend off Mayfield who lost an edge and went down. Rasmus with that able to MAKE A PLAY. OH, AND unable to bury it. Was Ben Reike still whacking away at it. It stayed out. >> And here's the the goal post. It came right back into underneath his skate and then that's why he's allowed to dig at it because the puck is loose and the referee knew it. No whistle. Oh boy. All good. Hey, that's what greatness in hockey. Beautiful stuff. >> Yeah. Passion defense. Second and >> Pio's in. Finds Mayfield scores. >> Wow. Scott Mayfield with his first of the season from Pio. >> The question, how did that happen? He's on the right the right side of your screen or the left side of your screen coming late. Oh boy. And just right by the hash marks, lets the shot go. I thought for a second they were going to get to him and this thing bounced off the pad and into the net. That's how quickly it can happen. Boy, don't >> point he's making defense. >> Marcel lost it. Sorry, Mick. >> Defense first. >> Finny in front. Lurin save May. Big stop there. Paddle down. Siroken. >> In most games with the chances that have been had in this game, Detroit has probably doubled up the Islanders on quality scoring chances. And in most games, you're probably going to be up by two or three goals. But Van RAMSTEIKE OUT FRONT HIMSELF ONTO the back hand. Good keep in by Cider to Brink down in the lane. Cider to Brinket. Fires. Blocked. BRINK. SCORES. HE'S GOT 20 AND IT'S THREE TO TWO. The puck. He's feeling good. His confidence is at the top of the scalp. >> Then you go back to him. Right off the head. I mean that's I keep saying that's where you score. Oh my goodness. Right off the side of his right ear and underneath >> Carzel Schaefer THE SHOT. OH, CAME RIGHT IN. ANOTHER SHOT THAT GETS BLOCKED and the Red Wings win it by a final score of 3-2.
Alex DeBrincat scored twice, Lucas Raymond dished out three assists, and Moritz Seider added two assists of his own to lead the Detroit Red Wings to a 3-2 win over the New York Islanders.

The CAT strikes again!
LGRW
I'm proud that the wings have turned A new leaf, and actually won against the Islanders
Whoever doesn’t think Detroit is a playoff team this year is delusional
Debrincat for Team USA!🇺🇸
The Cat is Hot!
Commentators sound so depressed
Tons of guys drafted before Cat were WAY worse. Being shorter teams look past you. Same reason Lane Hutson fell being 5 foot 8 on draft day to 62 overall. Dustin Wolf fell to round 7 being viewed as too small. Juuse Saros fell to 99 overall for being under 6 foot as a goalie.
Tall guys like Rasmussen getting picked a 9 overall. He is an ok player but the wings passed on a lot of better players who were shorter.
Gibson will win every game just to drive his haters who are wings fans crazy.
LGRW!-Brenton Hesselink
Why is Rasmussen still in the NHL
Just think, the Blackhawks could have had a line of Debrincat, Bedard and Kane!!! That would have been the best line in Blackhawks history
Один в поле не воин Сорокин держал команду в игре как мог но остальные игроки были сегодня слишком вялыми.
Дебринкат просто огонь
Детройт на высоте 🎉🎉🎉
As i mentioned last game asp is getting comfortable and Will soon dominante even more
