Really hope when the day comes for Tripper to retire we do something like this for him. He really will be cemented as a big figure in the first maybe 40 years of this franchise

Great point. T is easy to take Tripp for granted… until you have to listen to other broadcast teams. I thought everything would fall to shit when we lost Forslund, but seems Tripp Tracy was the sound I really cared about. Once hung out with him and Battaglia at the Cantina back in college (way before he got clean). He gave a fraternity brother and I tickets in the wive’s & girlfriends section for a game. So glad to see he is on the right track and enjoying a healthy life to the fullest.
Also his want to add that Shane Willis deserves his just too. He really to a shit ton to elevate youth hockey in the early days of the Jr Canes and the Learn To Play program. He legit cared about growing the sport and was super accessible to all the coaches.
Having moved out west, I now realized how much I took for granted what a great organization the Canes were for the community. Vegas could give a rat’s ass about Reno hockey, whereas the Canes reached every corner of the state. Shit, I’ve clearly had too much bourbon and getting sentimental. Anyways, back home for the holidays and excited to watch the Canes crush the Red Wings on 12/27!
Chuck Kaiton called 3412 games over 39 seasons of the Whalers/Hurricanes and was in the conversation for greatest all time hockey radio commentator. We gave him a ham sandwich and asked for his building pass back.
