I am so sorry about this. No wonder why he seemed so distracted in today’s game.
Honestly, explains a bit. He’s had off games before but something strange today, especially in the fourth. 🙁 My condolences to him.
Hope he’s ok and has good support around. I’m sure his teammates will be there for him.
I did notice him with his hands in his face on the bench during the third quarter which was odd. Condolences to him and hope everything is alright
He probably shouldn’t have played with that and coming back from injury. I don’t think he was in the right head space.

All the posts trashing him…receipts are saved. I mean, I expect the same people to trash the Spurs after a loss, but Wemby? Then I had a realization, I bet most of them are degenerate gamblers and bet more than they could afford to lose.
It would have been nice to win the cup I am not going to lie, but is it so important that I trash my team and it’s very young players?

Suddenly it all sorta clicks. Dude looked joyous and confident against the best team in the NBA…and utterly listless in the most important game of his young career.

Wemby lost his grandmother this morning in France.
It was not stated if it was his paternal or maternal grandmother. But last year his paternal grandma flew to SA to watch Victor (although he only warmed up as he did not play this game. Out due to a minor injury if I remembered correctly).
Horrible performance?
Tough loss, don’t worry Wemby / the whole team. You got us!

Condolences Wemby! No need to attend your next few games. Try to focus on recovering from this loss. Losing a grandma is tough. Some of us are closer to our grandparents than our parents.
