  1. Tom taking over for Joe…?

Given Joe was so vocal about wanting to stay on, and the reporting was that he might have wanted to stay on post sale, you would surely have to think something has kicked off behind the scenes no?

In all honestly my guess is Joe is pissed because this is leading to a full sale. And he doesnt want that. Pushing him out makes a sale MUCH more likely IMO

I still think this is going to be a miserable 3-5 years. Pohlads still fail at running businesses. Their debts will grow again i would think. And we have to wait for clarity before they move again.

I frankly dont care about the partners. They are utterly irrelevant and meaningless to this team as they have no say and no pathway to full ownership

  2. Say it ain’t so, Joe! The family probably got tired of all the stupid shit he said while being the public face of the family. Including talking about these limited partners back in July (!!) when the deal wasn’t even close to being done. The guy has zero business acumen.

  3. This really reads like the debt holders are taking an ownership stake to recoup their losses and kicking out it man responsible for the poor management.

  4. lol, Joe fucked up so bad that big brother has to take over for him. Joe is the ultimate fail son, literally everything his family has put him in charge of has gone up in smoke.

  5. Massive grain of salt here, but wiping the debt with this (major roadblock to a sale), and pushing out the guy who was the head of the “We don’t wanna sell, our fam wants to keep the team” are some major signs towards an eventual sale sometime in the short-mid term future. Don’t wanna get my hopes too high but genuinely cannot be much worse than the current status quo.

  6. >My uncle and my brother have led this organization with integrity, dedication, and a genuine love for the game.

    lol

  8. I don’t know anything about Tom but can’t be worse than Joe. From firing Dick Bremer on, it’s been terrible.

  9. If this leads to a long-term full purchase by Craig Leipold, there are worse options.

He has never let the Wild fully rebuild, and has basically always spent to the salary cap max. The Wild are always “competitive” but until very recently they have never been considered an actual championship contender.

It would be a vast improvement for the Twins to be in that boat

  10. Just so everyone knows….these investment groups arent doing this because they care about baseball, they’re doing it to make a profit. The profit comes when there is a sale of the team.

Were going to have to be patient because a sale won’t occur until after the new CBA/Media rights deals, but this is a faint light at the far end of the tunnel.

  11. Replacing one Pohlad with another isn’t going to save this sinking organization, it’s just rearranging the decks of the Titanic. We fans didn’t hate Joe, we hate the Pohlad’s, and funnily enough I think Tom is a Pohlad, based upon his last name.🤣Until Joe or Tom or somebody in that finally decides we fans hate their guts too much for them to make any more money off us anymore and sell completely, we’re stuck with the same old same old Pohlad bs, changing the face doesn’t change the bs coming out of the family’s offices.

  12. Joe Pohlad pissed me off so bad I gave up my season tickets after 19 years. When the Twins get new owners I will be back.
