Raheem and Kirk can talk about their contract when neither of them are with the falcons in February.
This org needs a reset bad. We’ve been doing the same thing for 8 years now.
Bad drafting = no depth
Bad coaching = no depth, no development
Bad QB play = bad team play
Rah needs to go, TF probably needs to go (although I’m all for keeping him, especially after this draft) cousins needs to go (57 mil per year is criminal) Rich McKay needs to go.
It’s gonna suck, especially cuz we will most likely waste Bijan/London somewhat. 2027 should be a great class for QBs (Sayin, Arch, Lagway, Sellers, lots of guys with upside going into another year of college)
We’ve got the defense looking good (need to address interior dline, specifically NT, and maybe a few shots at LB and CB.) and if we can get our offense to match quickly (I foresee us needing a LT soon, one more receiver, a TE, and potentially a QB)
I’m still a Kirko fan. Think that Penix can develop behind him. I think it’s head coach and OC and Special Teams Coach that needs to change to improve the team.
The way he played at the end of the year? You mean when you sent him back on the field hurt in New Orleans?
You planned for him to be a starting quarterback for that number of years, but didn’t even consider starting him this year when he was 100% healthy?
Not believing anything else coach bro 2.0 says.
Oh yeah, they gotta go.
All this Raheem talking about next year stuff is infuriating. It shouldn’t even be debatable whether he’s here or not in 2026
Everything shouldn’t be on the table when he’s that expensive. We need cheap stop gap next year and potentially the year after.
While I think the most likely decision is him getting cut, I think it really depends on how much faith the front office has in a Penix recovery and what the market looks like for bridge QBs and more specifically the price tag for the one they want. If the cost of the bridge QB and Kirk’s dead cap is singificantly cheaper than keeping Kirk, then you just cut bait. However, if dead cap plus the bridge QB costs in the ballpark of Kirk, then you might as well just keep Kirk.
So if we’re tanking, it’s pretty simple. Cut Kirk and sign whoever. If we’re actually trying to be competitive and want a good bridge QB, then things get more murky.
Nah. Cut them both, sign some bridge guy until Penix is healthy. Use Kirk’s money to build a better team around MPJ and let him have one more shot at being an NFL starter, hopefully with a competent coaching staff. If he sucks then we know what we have, and can draft a QB in ‘27. Keeping Kirk would be serious organizational malpractice, but I wouldn’t put it past this franchise.
The fact that Raheem doesn’t believe he’s in jeopardy of losing his job is so concerning…
🤡
Falcons are going to suck till they solve thier QB situation, I don’t believe in penix his injury history is horrific
Unless Cousins goes absolutely bonkers these last 3 and we win them convincingly (like blowout type stuff), there is 100% no reason to keep him. Just too old, expensive and washed. Get a bridge FA servicible vet (Wentz type) or trade a late pic for a Davis Mills type guy (if poss, which I doubt).
Raheem & Kirk gonna win out now and we’re gonna get a sequel next year, but this time Rocky still loses in teh end lol
This is just being put out there in hopes of a trade. And it’s smart.
Hopefully, this is all a moot point.
That’ll be the next head Coached decision
I’m actually done if we keep them both
lol arthur is gonna get sentimental over late season wns again isnt he
Jesus Christ. Get the liar and the fool off my team. The way he’s (Raheem) talking makes me think he is coming back next year for sure.
Clean house.
He won’t be here to make those decisions.
I honestly don’t care if we keep or cut Kirk. Fire Raheem Morris and Zac Robinson into the sun and let a new coaching staff decide what we’re doing at QB.

Raheem is not getting fired, folks. Do with it what you will, but come to terms with it.
Now they gotta kiss his ass and he (rightfully) could still move to a place where he starts and there’s no question in coaching.
The ball is really in his court.
I’m not a lawyer but… Kirk would still get paid even if you cut him. What options is Morris even talking about? Nobody wants to trade for his contract. You gotta play him and pay him a jumbo salary to do it. It’s spilt milk.
“Yeah we tried negotiating for Kirk to take less money and he told us to kick rocks. All options are on the table.”
Extend a near 40 year old QB who’s not happy with the half truths he was told. Not only that but he’s played ok for a couple of games, one against an opponent he owns and was terrible against a dead Dolphins team.
Nothing Morris says or thinks should be taken seriously. He’s a liar, not the coach kind of liar but just a liar. If this team runs it back with this plan or any plan that involves any piece mentioned, they deserve the misery. We don’t but they do.
Shut the TV off, don’t go to the games, ignore this team, send a message. It’s easier than you think. I’ve actually enjoyed many Sundays for a few years now that I’ve broken away from this misery.
Dear Mr Flacco,
I hope this letter finds you well. We’re writing to you because….
WTF?! 2 MORE years a 57.5mm each year?! Is that correct? I don’t recall this being the case can someone clarify?
We’re keeping them both unless we lose out. Then maybe Rah is gone.
Kirk looked good against the Bucs, but he can’t sustain that level of play. We’ll see the real version of him show up again soon.
This team has no money, why bother? Even if you WANT to keep Kirk and get him to restructure you’re basically scraping the bottom of the barrel FAs and 5 draft picks to field a roster. Unless I’m misreading Ovethecap, things are looking dire. I don’t even care about the bridge quarterback idea. Being Ridder back for all I care.
