  5. On the one hand, Foote is a truly abysmal coach that couldn’t even hold a job coaching a WHL club. Making him the perfect tank commander.

    On the other hand, you gotta wonder if he is actively hurting the development of our young players.

  8. I was on here telling people to pump the brakes on some of the wild projections I saw this summer, but really? We’re going Kampf DOC Sasson? We can’t find a spot in that dismal logjam of disappointment?

    We’re not asking for him to make the olympic roster here… What is Foote seeing that I’m not? I know the advanced stats are less positive but what on earth is going on here?

    Fire him once we get all the young guys we need and hire someone that can develop them.

    I watched Foote coach the Kelowna Rockets. He was uninspiring to say the least. Fired a few weeks before Kelowna was supposed to host the Memorial Cup while Cal was captain.

    Let that sink in. You were the host of the Memorial Cup and your son is the captain of the team, and they still fired him. Didn’t even want to wait out the season lol.

  15. Herr foote would rather have mein Kämpf in the lineup getting 0 points every game while being ass at everything except faceoffs over developing a young guy like räty who is already better than him at everything including faceoffs

  16. This is a downside to not having travelling media with the team anymore, and the coach not being made available to the radio guys anymore.

    For all we know, Raty’s hurt enough to need rest but not IR, but since Foote does the in-house media only on the road there’s no one to ask him anything besides softballs about how great he is and how awesome things are.

    Or yeah, like every coach before and after him, Foote has identified Raty for his doghouse despite evidence he should play.

    IDC if we’re tanking or not, don’t fucking kill Raty’s momentum like this. Wtf gives Foote?

    This is the perfect time to just let him rip.

  21. Sat and Bik were saying maybe they’re showcasing DOC and then trading him for a pick or something, and then they’d bring raty back. Or they have soured on him. As sat says, “two things can be true at once”

  23. Räty doesn’t deserve to be put in time out from the coach. Like I know we gotta get the newest additions in the roster but you’re telling me there isn’t someone else who’d be better as a healthy scratch that Aaut…
    Fr I’m convinced we went with Foote over someone like Manny solely to try and appease Hughes to see if that would get him to stay (it’s not like this org hadn’t already made decisions based on Hughes when it came to on and off ice personnel) and it backfired because we have a coach who’s not great at being the head coach and we didn’t keep Quinn.

  28. Side note, i just started rewatching prison break, worth the watch if you haven’t seen it, certainly better than this dumpster fire of a team if you have an evening off

  29. Adam Foote is the worst coach in the league probably by an order of magnitude which is good for the tank, but for the love of god play Raty. 

  30. Raty has been both objectively and subjectively better than half the roster and Foote has him in the doghouse. No wonder the guy has a shit coaching career at every step.

  34. Man, I really wish that the Canucks could get rid of this loser coach now that Hughes is gone. It seemed to be his coaching choice/preference, but dude is absolutely awful and I can’t stand watching him coach the team. He’s so bad that he makes me miss Willie D running four lines repeatedly.

    I don’t mind the team losing but don’t tank one of the team’s better young players development just because. Foote is such a bum coach man.
