Interesting news. I know we didn’t play well in front of Mrazek, but I preferred the performances from Husso. I hope he doesn’t get claimed by another team.
I feel like Husso is better
We’ve officially survived our 1 & 2 going down, while learning that our 3 is fully capable of being a 2.
Suchanek and Clang have both played really well this year in the AHL I wonder who goes down to ECHL? Suchanek? He has a .920 with 1.91 GA in 2 GP.
Husso just signed a two-year extension with Anaheim. I’m thinking he’ll stay in rotation with the big club throughout the year.
I’m fine with either option, tbh. Mrazek’s first game of the year was really bad (17/23 for a .739 save %) but his numbers since are fine for a backup that only play once every few games (159/178, .893% in 6 games). I think Husso’s upside is probably higher (although his rebound control is questionable), but either guy is fine to fill in once every few games)
Sad to see because I believe in Husso, but it makes more sense with the contract situations.
I kinda get the feeling this was Verbeek’s call not Qunnville’s. I’m not opposed to Mrazek since he was improving before he got hurt but Husso was already doing so well and so far I wouldn’t even blame any losses on him either.
We shouldn’t care this much about the backup’s backup.
