NHL Highlights | Kings vs. Lightning – December 18, 2025

Now, we’ll get into that in a moment. They’re friendly going to drop the puck. >> And there is late breaking news for the Lightning as well. It was just announced by the team that Nikita Coutro will not play tonight. Puck goes into the corner. Kings come away with it. They send it back to Clark. Snap shot on the way and Basilki makes that stop and hangs on. No icing. Waved off. Caught a stick on the way in. Centering pass. Nobody around. Picked up by Cory Perry. has a sharp angle shot from the near side from our MIA Gensel who is now officially a fighter in the NHL. Got into a scrap in the last game. There’s a long backhander in on Forsber and he will cover up and it’s chipped out into the middle picked up by Biffield. Byfield snaps a shot. Let that one go and Bowski makes that stop. >> It’s like them that can really set the tone and get in there and grind offensively. >> And that’s what they’re trying to do right now. Work back to the line. Radish across. Moser with a drive. Moser who scored in the last game. >> When are you guys going to get at it? >> Yeah, we’re getting tired of carrying you guys. Up ahead. Here’s Moore. Moore with a shot. Save by Basilki. This is Kuseno. Kuseno. Nice pass in the middle. Kings are up the ice. This is Moore. More with a shot and that’s handled easily by Basilki. Max Croer battling down low. Ends up with Edmonson. Wide. Shoots. Save rebound fasting that save as well. He comes up with a big second effort on that play. >> Draw pass to Helenius. Samuel Helenius works it back to the line. Clark wrist. Oh, deflected kick. Save that. And here he is again buzzing around to the net. Kicked out. Rebound is there and good stick by Cece to take a chance away right in front. >> Gordon centers it. Douglas with a chip and Borsber comes up with a tricky save on that redirect from Curtis. >> Ranton has had a few collisions this year has caused guys to be out of the lineup. >> Faceoff win. Radish back to the net and there was traffic in front provided by Gensel. Radish again steps up on by field. Centers it back around and that was almost there for Cerelli. Here’s Radish again. Long range shot kicked aside by Forsber. He’s leaned on there by Cece and the Kings take it away. This is a very dangerous team short-handed. They got six short-handed goals. Here’s a pass in front. Stay for scores. Oliver Bujorkstrand with a power play goal and it’s one- nothing Tampa Bay. Work hard on the power play. But you do it by turning pucks over in the neutral zone. And that had so much to do with it. And it was Borkstrand that did that. LA I think thought they were pretty much in the clear. It was Braden Point coming back and knocking it to Bjorkstrand and then Gensel with the cross ice pass. Beautiful setup over using the east west plays one side back to the other. Bork just get in the timing of the game for Mcdana to be out over a month. Yeah, it’s very difficult but his experience will kick in very quickly. He’ll know what he can do and what he can’t do right off the bat. >> Puck comes free and up ahead to Gourd. Gourds got some room. Steps in, takes the shot and he just missed on the far post and it ricochets out of play. Gonzalz up ahead and they’re away. Bjorkstrand up the ice in over the line. Drops it off back across to James. Oh, what a stop by Forsber as he robbed James just as time expires. James must have thought I got one here. >> Boy, the puck movement here was outstanding by the Lightning all the way along. York Strand taking his time getting it off to the left wing side, then back across to the other side. Look at James. He snapped that stick down on the ice like, “Give it to me.” He thought he had one there. We all thought he had one. That is an outstanding. >> Second period faceoff sponsored by Rooms to Go. The Tampa Bay Lightning Brian have won nine straight at home against the Los Angeles Kings. He ends up with the puck again in the corner. Now he is stripped. LA trying to work it out. >> Kings have not had a shot on goal in this game in 14 over 14 minutes of play. Here’s Kempe. Kemp’s long shot. Scores. And there’s a shot that goes in right past Bat SKI fooled him. And it’s a tie game 1-1. >> That’s what Adrien Kempe can do for you. He’s going to back the defenders off. See, he’s coming from underneath there. Dast had to back off and it’s scoring from dead center. Didn’t even get to the top of the circle, but this is a really brilliant shot. Baselki is out on it, but it still catches a just not quite getting the glove or the pad. It’s the classic over the over the pad under the the LA Kings forward with Pike on the Lightning Demon. Moser point dishes shot save rebound for Moser and Bray Clark may have saved a goal bagged away by Tumlan almost given away there to Gourd who’s again up there forcheing causing turnovers like this one and then they gave it right back to Kempe wrong guy to give it to Kee in scores Adrien Kempe with his second goal in his period and it’s 2-1 LA >> instead he’s just going to Even right here, see Dasu fades to the outside. Homer thinks he’s going to take it from him. Well, you get on the backside of Adrien Keer. Kempe, I don’t care who you are. You are not going to catch him. And that’s Kee at his best. >> He loses the pressure applied by Biffield. Now he’ll step in. Stick check. Lost possession. >> Yeah, that’s that move at the blue lineup. >> And now he’s given up to Armia. Big save by Basilki on Joel Armia who has three short-handed goals. Third period faceoff sponsored by Rooms to Go. Tampa Bay has lost three in a row on home ice. Outscored 11 to five in that process trying to bump that slump here in the third period. They start by getting the puck inside the Kings blue line. Banked up ahead. Jipped up the center right net by flipped up forward. Little spin move. Back hand shot there and that was Oh, it’s almost. IT IS BEHIND FORSBER. REACHES BACK AND KEEPS it out. A beautiful little spin move. The rebound comes out attacking in straight lines again. That was Gergensson’s coming in late. They get that second chance and then it’ll lay right on the crease, right on the goal line and alertly turns around and gets the glove on it. Just sweeps it with that glove hand. Oh, got to be careful there. Trevor Moore offensive blue line when forwards get up and Moore is in. Save Vaselki as he bails the winding out again. >> You’re not draw pass. try to go east west gets turned over that’s inside their own zone and then Vaselvki all alone mono back to Radish again near side Gonzalez down move Ganszel shot save Borsburg rebound picked up by the old strength Gensel again curling it a point big stop by on Braden point and he’s got it >> lots of room Gensel left side of your screen look how far up they are in Braden point. There’s nobody in front. Gensel’s able to come back. Good recovery there by Anderson to get a stick on him. That made a big difference. And then Gensel with the move. Great point. Got a chance. >> Here comes the push from the Lightning. Back of the net is Yanni Gordon. Extra attacker is on. Here’s Ratis. Lo shoots. Save. Rebound. Forsber’s down. Is cleared. And just pass D. >> Getting it back to the point. Move it around. Radish. That’s who you want shooting these days. He’s been hot. The board line all there. All of them are tight to the net. The rebound gets kicked back to Darwin Radish. Under a minute to go. Sponsored by Andard Levie into the corner. Gensel across and they do not get a shot. That was Bjorkstrand. >> He threads the needle to Nick Paul or to Bjorkstrand, excuse me. There’s Gensel. It’s there. Yeah, he just It’s end over end a little bit. It’s just not as clean and as crisp a shot as you would have hoped. >> He’s trying to sling it all in one mot. You know what that >> Now he’ll put it up top. York again. Time running out. Gel in the corner. Can’t get Osber. There’s the shot from point and the save by Forsber. >> I think they’ve had more success with the puck down low at Yensel. I mean rather than up top. The Kings have seen what the Lightning like to do. They’ve done their homework prior to >> Paul Battles, pulls it back, sent to the boards by LA out of the corner. And this is going to do it. The Los Angeles Kings are going to hang on to win it 2-1.

Adrian Kempe scored two goals in the second period to solidify a 2-1 victory for the Los Angeles Kings over the Tampa Bay Lightning. Anton Forsberg stopped 30 of 31 shots faced on the night to pick up his fourth win of the season.
