NHL Highlights | Kraken vs. Flames – December 18, 2025

sticking around based on yesterday’s weather. >> It’s good to see most of them still here. So, we’ve got a little extra friends and family. Glad you’re with us tonight. How was your trip in here, John, yesterday? I stopped in Seattle, funny enough, but didn’t catch the crack in practice. It’s all good. We’re here tonight and thankful for that. Hubardo out of Coronado. QUICK SHOT OFF THE PIPE. THAT WAS CLOSE. Great first shift. Here’s that panted release that we’ve watched for a couple of years. Terrific release. Beats the goalender decord pretty cleanly, but the post is there and stays tracking. >> Fairbyound to Weaguer. His shot right back. Save by Joey Decor. True. You couldn’t pull off a Statler like that for most. >> Melonsson hustling up, turns the corner, shoots, and a stop by Dustin Wolf. Lings for one and the score stays tied at zero as Mallet shoots and a stop by the cord with Lombberg at the top of the crease. Ran into Sherovich. The pivot at the last moment. Cry still got it. Cry swings to Joel Hanley. His shot right on and the cord handles that at the top of the crease. How about the tutelage from Hanley for Stevich in his fourth game this season. Here’s a steal by Ko off a ball now out in front right. A STOP WOLF. PUCK STILL LOOSE but the whistle sounds. Dangerous chance for the Kraken so far. Throws it out in front. There’s Meyers and right. The Flames forward has been hit. It’s Backlin this time that had a stinger backing the other way. That one broken up in the slot. Parchment swinging a miss and a point blank shot right into the glove there from Lindred. Definitely painful nonetheless as Cry is trying to work his way through. Comes back to him with in front back to Cadry and a blocker stop by the Gor off the post up the outside of the short side post. Cadric angles that one. Barby took a little bit of a shoulder to the chops there from Big D, I believe. Angle. Here is Fairby in that collision with Mahura. Fairby wasn’t happy. Beecher was looking to unload. Another second chance puck. Leecher snaps it. Stopped by the cord. He’ll hang on of winning those puck battles. They sure have. back steps over the line, shoots point blank and a blocker stop by the cord. We got enough on it with the right hand. Three consecutive goals. I think it was just more about okay that happens but we have to move forward. There’s Mahara right down the Joby with some traffic in front. Back in Sharangovich bouncing pad trying to free up the stick and another crack and penalty on that play. Larson can’t get the clear. He chops it. Sharon Govicho back down out in front off the stick of Lindren separating Clanka from getting to it. Cad saves. Rasmus shoots and Sharon go trying to put the finishing touches on and could not. Wiger now to Zerry. Back to Wager shoots. Stopped by D. Rebound. Frost right to the crease and so THAT PUCK STAYS OUT. IT’S under Alexia. This is your great puck movement. Look at all the traffic again. And then Frost just throws it in front. There’s that move by Alexiaak with Coronado just to the right of the goalender. Watch Alexiaak. The puck comes to and he’s surprised. Coronado kind of shovels it in there. Here’s Sharon Govich with a great try. This is what I’m talking about with the urgency coming up and Clapka right in front. There’s Sharon Govich. So indeed, as Santa told us, the naughty lists for being absent tonight. But what a great first period for the Flames. It’s scoreless, but they badly outshot the Kraken. Needed the video game back. That’s right. Right. Get that hand eye going. Sharing Coleman. What a stop by Dort. And a great look by Coleman. Frost trying to one-hand it. What a play to Hoover. OLD STOP BY MCCORD. >> Take a look at this play that you talked about, John. Oh my gosh, what a centering pass by Frost. Hero to the line. Lindred tipped in front by Tolen and reactionary stop by Dustin Wolf able to keep it out. Coronado lost it to the Kraken who set up Stevenson and they score. Quick strike by Seattle who lead it one- nothing pretty clearly. Now there’s a turnover by Matt Coronado and all of a sudden here come the Kraken and what that’s a beautiful pass by Tolvin and right onto the stick of Stevenson. Watch this little play and there’s not much there Dustin Wolf can do. It looks to me like Stevenson even elevates this just a little bit. >> Gets it beyond the P. That’s terrific. I think Brian has helped develop or aid a lot of goalies. Absolutely. That one. What a pass by Russ Anderson for his 200th assist. Michael B appropriately finishes it off. We talked about what John going to the net more often. Here’s Michael Backlin. Shane Wright tries to tie him up and back gets body position and right can’t do anything and Raspus Anderson just throws it right in front and I believe it just banks in off the foot. There’s no kicking motion by Michael Bland and we have a 1-1 tie. That’s a six break it up. Another hit on Tolman and this time the puck comes out but this time he laid back a little bit. Didn’t go after him as hard as he could have. Calgary 26 for 28 over their last 10 games. Reaching for it. Marchman up the boards. Weer advanced couldn’t get it out. Newman to Evans. Shan tip. They score. Cabo Kako on the Seattle power play and it’s two on Kraken. hit the post earlier in the period and now he finally finishes it off. >> First of two home games before the Christmas break for the Calgary Flames and it’s a 32 second carryover power play with Stevenson in the box and the Flames will go all the way back to start the third. Now Kofka plays to Beecher crossing with Lombberg. Mike bouncing goes to Lombberg. It’s wrong. What a play for Anderson. Wrong by Dord. Penalty coming up. >> Lombberg with a nice feed right to Rasmus Anderson. Take him down. >> What a great chance for the Flames. Still down 2-1 in the third. >> Coronado. 44 seconds remaining in the power play for the Flames. on to Anderson. Cry lets it go. Redirects Hubo. Cross resets to Anderson. Cry again. Scores. Power play from Cry. Ties it up. Zone entry. Just weave their way through. Find an opening on that entry. You should have two or three options. There’s Muro with the first good block. Rasman gets it right into the wheelhouse of Naz Cadry. And Cadry, look at him lean on that shot. And even though Dord was there and reading that play, that’s just a terrific shot that beats him. Bruno nearly stole. He does now. Pulls it back up the middle. Anderson up the ice to corner. Break it in. Shoot. Scores. What a shot by Coronado. Flames lead at 32. These are the sort of things that have been hurting Seattle in this stretch where they can’t get a win. A turnover by Gubbero. A quick up by Rasmus Anderson. And like the first shot of the game by Matt Coronado. He beats Joey Dor. Unfortunately, in the first period, he hit the post with an almost identical scoring chance. This one just nicks off the arm of Dord and just like that the Flames have a three. Kraken had the puck done. His shot blocked by Bar and the right hand. Empty net coming out for back looking for a second scores. Now that is effort and back secure this one for John. Oh boy, what an incredible block. Look how hard Barby goes out there and gets in position. Takes away that chance from Dunn. And look at Michael Bman get away from Tolman and knowing off the big shot block from Calgary will put another one in the win. Call it home. A 42 victory over the Kraken.

Mikael Backlund found the back of the net twice, while Rasmus Andersson collected three assists as the Calgary Flames earned a 4-2 win over the Seattle Kraken. Jonathan Huberdeau tallied his 800th career point with a helper in the third period.
