The Mets still have time this offseason, but the names are coming off the board — and it’s becoming clearer that the best path back into playoff contention might be through trades.

In this video, I break down a 3-team trade proposal involving the Mets, Rays, and Diamondbacks that helps all three clubs — while giving the Mets exactly what they need: a reliable starting pitcher and one of the most underrated bats in baseball. #Mets #LGM #LFGM #MLB #MLBHotStove

  1. I think we should keep Senga. Worst case is he can be a #3 or 4 starter and if he’s anywhere close to his normal self, that’s going to be a good thing for the Mets.

  2. Yeah bro this deal works!! As it does seem like other than trades i think the only bat we sign is Okamoto to play 1st if we dont get one making a trade like this one

  3. Creative thinking but in this scenario the Mets are not getting enough back for what they are giving up. A middle rotation arm and a 34 year old for 1 year? Giving up 2 top 10 prospects and a starter that was an ace not too long ago? Nah

  4. If the Rays are penny pinching by trying to trade Diaz, why would they take Marte that makes way more. Doesn’t make sense. Why trade a decent pitcher with team control regardless of arbitration coming. If Mets trade the players to D Backs that you just proposed matters we’ll Mets do it to get Katel Marte and forget the Rays. Just don’t think Ryan Clifford is going anywhere he’s future 1b

  5. Horrible proposal….so we trade 2 top prospects and we get a average at best pitcher and a 34 yr old 1B/DH???? HELL NO….If we are dealing thiese top prospects, I want an ACE back…Stop the madness here. Whera rae we all just looking to give away our farm???

  6. HELL NO!
Give a bunch of young talent for a 34-year-old an OK hitter? qnd an OK pitcher
He is about to go into rapid decline if he follows a normal aging curve.
How about just playing the young talent?
