Mike Brown on Brunson’s dagger in Indiana: “We call a timeout – we took another timeout, drew up a different play. And as Jalen’s walking out on the floor, Jalen turns to me and says ‘I’m getting this win. I’m going for it.’ I said you do you. That’s who you are… I’m glad I’m a part of his team.”

  1. Also, the last damn thing we needed was to go to Overtime right there. Got a back to back, coming off a crazy week of games, emotions & travel…cap just called game & headed to the airport on ’em.

    Cold blooded.

  2. Something so underrated ab this quote is that he called this “his team”. Like as the head coach of the new york knicks he stills defers to say that this is jalen brunsons team. Maybe this is more common than i think but how many players have their coaches talk ab them in that way??

  3. That’s how it is with star players. Brunson is our best player so just put it in his hands

  4. Translation: neither Brunson nor Brown wanted to play an OT. Win or lose, the game was going to end there.

Luckily we have the clutchest player in basketball shooting so we was always going to win

  5. We were either winning or losing this game.Brunson wasn’t fking around and doing OT.I knew we were going for three no matter what.

  6. Can league finally acknowledge Brunson is real deal and should people put him to a MVP conversation?

  7. Man when Brunson walked out cheesin at nembhard after that timeout, I turned to my girl and said, “oh fuk, he’s about to bury them [pacers].” Then he did. Fucking scary man, what a straight G. So glad he is a Knick.

  8. I saw as they were walking up the court to that final play, Brunson was smiling at nembhard 😂🥶

  9. Man, I get nervous at a self checkout when someone is right behind me and I feel like I’m not moving fast enough. Meanwhile, Brunson is shaking off chumps and dropping daggers in front of thousands live and a broadcast of millions.

Dude is absolutely cold blooded. A spectacle to observe, and I love it.

  10. Man what a difference a year makes. Mike Brown is what the players needed as a coach. Thib was good but let’s be real, he was outdated…

  11. The head coach saying he’s glad to be a part of “his team” (Brunson’s team for the people who can’t read context clues) is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard

We have not had a player on this level in my entire life. I am 27 fucken years old.

  12. You could tell he was pissed about that push, staring down Nembhard the entire time he was walking in before that last play.

  13. You can tell Mike Brown is as much of a fan as we are. He loves this team and the players

  14. There’s something so comical and entertaining about the way he speaks, and I can’t quite put my finger on it.

  15. Brunson knew that 1) OT win would be worse than a regulation loss 2) he’s a cold blooded MF who was gonna put the Pacers out of their misery

  16. “Im glad I’m a part of his team.” That quote says a lot about Browns leadership. Love to see it.
