Pittsburgh Pirates acquire Brandon Lowe in Blockbuster 3-team trade
The Pittsburgh Pirates finally added an impact hitter. Brandon Laauo coming to the Bucks from the Tampa Bay Rays along with outfielder Jake Mangum and lefty reliever Mason Montgomery. It’s a three-team deal. So, these three players are coming to the Pirates from the Rays. The Pirates are sending uh pitcher Mike Burroughs to the Houston Astros. Uh and then the Astros are sending the Rays some prospects. So, I mean, this is the blockbuster. Brandon Laauo over 30 homers last year. The dude can hit. Um his issue really has been, you know, defense and and staying on the field, but when he’s there, when he’s healthy, the dude can hit. Um the Pirates immediately add an impact bat. They can plug into the middle of the lineup. He’s making 11.5 million this year. Um one year left on his deal, so he’s a free agent after this season as well. But hey, the Pirates finally went out there, added a bat. The other pieces, some interest, some interesting stuff there too as well. But emergency podcast coming soon. Mike Burroughs has given up a lot. Um but the Pirates had to do something here. They had to add offense. They had to add that middle of the order bat and a trade was the best way to do that. They haven’t been able to sign anybody. Uh, but pulling off this trade, this this just makes the offense better. Uh, and they’re dealing from a position of strength, uh, which is the pitching staff. Burroughs, again, was a big fan of the guy. Um, battled injuries throughout his minor league career, was a minor league pitcher of the year, came up last year, pitched really well for the Pirates in his rookie season. So, you know, best of luck to Burrows in Houston. I hope he does, you know, does a great job down there. Um, but yeah, the Pirates finally got their hitter, Brandon Laauo. What do we think?

Lowe shouldn't be the everyday 2nd baseman because his defense is god awful. Love his bat. He was healthy a good chunck of last year so this is a dub.
