I wouldn’t mind. It would slide Cannon into being a mid reliever.
Edit: Maybe Cannon starts in Charlotte??
No point.
Yes but I loved Gio
Why ? He is perpetually injured.
Let’s get Gio Gonzalez while they’re at it.
Do people here not realize he was solid just last year? I rode him for a while in a couple of my fantasy leagues. Signing him now doesn’t mean having him as their ace when it comes time to start really competing again either.
No
gio will get close to $15- 20 mil per yr. only chance is if JR gets some tariff bailout money from trump.
Sure it would make sense as far as mid tier vets which we need, but I don’t think he would want to come back here
If it’s 1 year $12 million sure
Should I stay or should I Gio, now. If I stay it will be trouble, if I Gio it will be double.
If I were him, I’d rather be a back-end starter for a contender. Most players don’t want to play for this organization. Until we turn things around we’re going to have to rely on the farm and lower tier free agents. Also, I’m not worried about starting pitching at all. We have arms, just need to separate the wheat from the chaff.
I would have absolutely no problem with it.
3.41 era in 145 innings last year. 31 is not necessarily old for a starter like him.
He would definitely be one of our best 5 pitchers.
Don’t trust him, he’s game went to hell when they cracked down on spider tac, and did hat/belt/glove checks. Did he just get better last year, or…
