Houston Texans Rumors Q&A: Tank Dell Hinting Return + Texans Offensive Line Fixed?

Welcome into Texans today everybody. I’m your host Jeremy Chugs and coming up on today’s show got a little bit of a mailbag for you. All these questions are from December 17th, 2025. You can use hashtag Texans or Super Chat to get featured on our future live shows. But on December 17th, we had to cancel our live show. Unfortunately, a lot of, you know, guys moving around, a lot of holiday plans being made. So, went ahead, decided to shove our live until next Wednesday. But make sure you tune in. We go live almost every Wednesday at 3:30 Central time. That’s why you got to subscribe, turn on those notifications, and all the questions that you see today are from subscribers who send in questions in our community tab. So, make sure to keep uh tabs on that as well, because we’ll always, you know, drop some nuggets here and there about future live shows and other things that we got going on. and just kind of feeling the pulse of Texans fans out there asking y’all some questions. Now, before we get going, if I didn’t get to your question, if you put a question in our community tab or you didn’t see it and you’re like, “Hey, Chugs, I still want to ask you a question.” You can do so on social media. You can follow me on uh xjeremychugs, IG, Texansday CS, or on Tik Tok, Jeremy Chugs. Just hit me up in my DMs. If you have a question, if you want to ask me anything around the Texans, around this team, hit me up. Um, I have been getting some good responses. A lot of people hit me up. So, I’ll try to get back to everybody that I can, but you didn’t get your question asked. Hit me up. X is probably the easiest, but I’m always on all my social media, so you can always ask me anything you want around the Texans or the NFL. Let’s get right into it with our first question coming in from Gavin Sheiley. Who’s our first round pick next year? Still offensive line, I would say. So, I mean, the offensive line has been better this year, but if you [snorts] ask me who I want in the first round, what position, it’s still O line. That is the major upgrade I think the Texans can make this off season. And maybe, you know, get a back into the roster, you know, not back into the roster, back into the first round offensive lineman, preferably an interior offensive lineman because Arante Ursery, he’s holding it down at left tackle. I love his progression through his first rookie season with this Texans team. And then you have Trent Brown. You also have Blake Fischer on the right side. So if I’m the Texans, I’m looking at, you know, maybe upgrading one of the guard spots, maybe even the center position. I think you can definitely get a little bit better than Jake Andrews. I know he’s still young, 26 years old, but maybe give him some competition. Jake Slaughter is the top rated center, you know, currently right now coming into the 2026 NFL draft out of Florida, 6’5, 303 pounds. he could be an option for the Texans to look at and somebody who has been you know mocked a ton to this Texans team no matter where they’ve been in mock drafts it seems like you know and I’ve been told his first name they just call him Vega uh Vega Ion out of Penn State I probably butchered that last name but it’s all good he’s been mocked a ton to this Houston Texans team and if we could get another Mer on the inside like Ed Ingram has been awesome at right guard Titus Howard left guard but Maybe, you know, with Trent Brown going out, he can swing back over to that right tackle spot where he’s more comfortable. If we can get, you know, some steady play out of our guard spots and add another big guy in the interior, that would be my best pick for this Texans team. Unless there’s like an absolute, you know, somebody who’s falling in the draft who is amazing, like, you know, I don’t know, like a Sidi Lamb whenever he dropped to the Cowboys. Unless there’s somebody like a can’t miss prospect that falls to us. I would definitely want to go Oline in the first round in this upcoming draft. But let’s not worry about the draft, right? We’re we’re in the middle of the playoff race. We’re in the middle of the playoff hunt, so we don’t have to worry about the draft at least for a couple more months. Let’s go to the next question from Htown. Is there any update on Tank or Joe Mixon, Miss Tank being out there? So do I. And it I have been getting this question a lot because Tank Dell has been active on social media. He’s been tweeting a lot. He’s, you know, tweeted out his highlights the other day and said like people are going to find out soon enough, you know, talking about a lot of people saying we we’ll never see Tank Dell again or he’s never going to be the same player. I I I’m for one I’m rooting for Tank Dell and he’s been out there with at with the team practicing, you know, been out not practicing but, you know, on the sidelines in street clothes catching balls from the quarterbacks, this that and the other. Uh I don’t know if he’ll be able to come back this season. Um, but I mean things are looking up for Tank Dell. I mean he’s definitely a glue guy in this locker room and even though he’s not out there on the field, you know, just having him around this locker room, having him around the Texans facility really seems to kind of bring everybody’s spirits up and he’s kind of a guy that, you know, just is a feel-good guy. He’s a hometown kid, went to the uh University of Houston. So, of course, I’d love to see Tank Dell back out there. Mixon. Um, you know, there was a lot of different reports saying, you know, oh, like he’s not going to come back at all. Mixon said to Raport, you don’t know, Jack. You know what? Um, so I’m not sure on the Joe Mixon front as much. I I would probably lean, you know, maybe we see Tank Dell before we see Joe Mix uh Joe Mixon, but you never know. You never know. Maybe both maybe one of these guys right before the start of the playoffs says, “I’m back. Let’s get this thing going. But I I’ve had this question a lot around Tank Dell and I want to know what would be your one-word reaction if Tank Dell returned at the end of end of the season and was ready for the playoffs. Mine would be electric. It would be electric to see number three back out there. I would love to see if Tank Dell could play this season again for this Houston Texans team. Now, I know our wide receiver room like I I don’t know how he would fit with guys that we already have. You know, we have Jaylen Null, Christian Kirk, Tank Dale. they all kind of play that, you know, smaller slot role, but especially if he’s any semblance of what he was before for this Texans team, it would definitely be a plus for this Texans squad to have him back out there. And we already know the Straoud to Dell connection is very strong, so that might be a plus for him as well. Let’s go to the next question from Oscar 713. Do you think the Jags can lose their next two games, Broncos and Colts, both away games? I think they could sleep on the Colts. Um, you know, possibly. But, you know, I’m putting all my eggs in the basket of week 16 up against the Broncos. And it’s funny because this game is actually going to be going on at the same time the Texans play the Las Vegas Raiders. I’m definitely going to be switching between those games because we need the Broncos to beat the Jags. If the Broncos beat the Jaguars and the Texans win out, the Texans win the division. So, I’m looking at this week right here, week 16 up against the Broncos. They might be sleeping on the Colts with Philip Rivers, but you know, a motivated Jags team up against Philip Rivers and the Colts, they should win that game. But week 16 up against the Broncos, that’s the one we all need to pay attention to to see if the Broncos win and the Texans can possibly win out and win the division. 0 and three to winning the division. Who would have thought? Who would have thought? Now, before I get into more of your questions, I couldn’t do today’s show if it wasn’t for our amazing sponsor over at Prize Picks. Next up, Houston Texans fans 7412. If we make it into the playoffs as the seventh seed, can we win multiple playoff games? I mean, I don’t see why not. I’ve asked everybody at the Chad Sports Studios, right? We have all these different hosts for all these different teams. Every single person says the one team they don’t want to play in the playoffs is the Houston Texans. And like I said, don’t take it from me. Our Broncos host Trace Mustakis said, “I do not want to face the Houston Texans.” Our Patriots host Brett Alper said he is worried about the Houston Texans. You know, Jack Sperry, our Steelers host, he is also worried about playing the Houston Texans. Nobody wants to play this Texans team in the playoffs. Even if we aren’t able to jump up in the AFC playoff picture, currently sitting at that seven seed right now, you know, I still feel confident, weirdly enough, playing the Patriots. I I think we we’re much more battle tested. Our defense can definitely hold the secondyear quarterback Drake May to a, you know, maybe less than his, you know, regular stats. I mean, up against the Bills this past week in that loss, he did not look good whatsoever. um aside from those two rushing touchdowns. But I feel confident about the Texans in almost every single game right here, right? Like the weirdly enough, the team that worries me the most is the team that’s one game ahead of us, the Buffalo Bills. I know the Texans absolutely put Josh Allen and Clamps, but he gets better as the year goes on and especially playoff time. Josh Allen, I think he’s the best quarterback in the AFC playoff race as it stands right now. So, you have to ask me the team that I’m worried about the most is the team that’s actually only one game ahead of the Texans in the wildard round in the Buffalo Bills. And wouldn’t that be crazy if two wild card teams made it to the AFC Championship game? Lopez, Buffalo Bills, Houston Texans. It could happen. It could definitely happen. Next up, Andrew Robas says, “How much do you think the O line has progressed this year, and which part of the O line could still use the biggest additions?” I would say the interior of the offensive line would be my biggest sticking point this off seasonason on how we can improve. And you know, Trent Brown, he’s getting up there in age, a little bit older, but you know, he’s been serviceable as this Texans right tackle um throughout the year. They moved Titus Howard into left guard where honestly he’s been good. Titus Howard has been good at left guard. So maybe you keep him there. Ed Ingram is going to be a free agent. So depending on whether they bring him back or not, we’ll need to fill that hole at right guard. And Jake Andrews, I think he’s had an up and down season, has had some good, I think, has also had quite a bit of bad. Um, still young, only 26 years old. But center, right guard, those are the two spots that I’m looking at really cuz, you know, maybe you move Titus Howard back out to right tackle, maybe they keep him at guard and say, “Hey, we think you’re really good and would like to keep you at that left guard spot and hold it down right there.” In that instance, maybe Blake Fischer goes out to right tackle, but I would say center right guard are the two spots that I’m looking at, especially if Ed Ingram signs elsewhere in free agency this upcoming off season. Next up is hourglass. He wants to know, should we be cautious of this game since it’s a trap game? I mean, it is, right? We’ll call it like it is. This game is 1,000% a trap game. The last time I checked, and you know, I’m filming this on Wednesday, so maybe the line moved up or down, but the Texans were for two score favorites, 14 and a half points in an NFL game. That’s wild. That’s wild. To for reference, uh I believe JMU up against Oregon in the college football playoffs, which is maybe one of the biggest, you know, disparities between teams in college football, it’s about the same right there. I think Oregon’s a 15-point favorite in that game. So obviously the Texans could easily look past this Raiders squad because the next week, week 17, we play the LA Chargers Saturday. It’s a midday game. It was flex to that day because this could have a lot of playoff implications as well here in week 17. So it would be easy for the Texans to look past the Raiders in week 16, but Demo Ryan made it very clear this past week up against the Cardinals. This team will not look past anybody. We they realize everybody is a professional in this league. They’re all trying to get paid. They’re all trying to put food on their families tables. And it does doesn’t matter the record, right? Like teams might want to tank. Fan bases, even front offices, and maybe coaching staffs want to tank, but the guys out there on the field, they still want to put good tape out there, get ressigned to other teams next season or possibly get, you know, extensions with the Raiders. So, they’re going to be playing their ass off even if they only have two wins on the season. So, I would definitely be cautious for this to be a trap game hourglass. Next up is Maxwell Smith. How do you feel Toro got inducted into the mascot hall of fame? Um, good question, Maxwell. Um, you know, I think welldeserved. I would say that that Houston Sports has some of the best mascots in all of, you know, professional sports, right? You look at Toro. He is, I would say, one of the better NFL mascots out there. He He’s absolutely, you know, doing the most on social media. Always has fun pranks, fun stuff he’s doing. you know, he’s, you know, gliding in off of the roof of NRG State. Like, he he’s always doing something crazy. You also have Clutch with the Rockets. I think one of the best mascots in the NBA and Orbit with the Astros as well. So, like Houston, the mascot game very strong. I I would put Houston’s mascots up against any other city. And I think it clears easily. And I don’t think it’s close with who has the best mascots in all of professional sports. In terms of cities, I think Houston owns all of them. Shout out to Toro. He also comments on some of my TikToks, so I know he’s a real one. Last question up is from Christian Tate. He says, “Not Texans related.” It’s okay. But what do you think about the Tua Tangavi Tua Tagaloa and Kyler Murray situations? Yes, Tua. Um, the day actually I’m filming this, December 17th, the news came in. He is getting benched for former University of Texas quarterback Quinn Eers. And kind of in the same situation with the Cardinals and Kyler Murray, right? They benched Kyler Murray for Jacobe Brassette. Tua got benched for Quinn Eers. And it’s funny cuz FanDuel actually put out a crazy trade. They were like, “Oh, why not just Kyler Murray and Tua get traded for each other?” I don’t think that’s going to happen. But I am interested in this for one reason. The Indianapolis Colts, they don’t have a first round pick next year. They were probably going to put their eggs in the Daniel Jones basket, but he got injured, ruptured his Achilles. I don’t know if he’ll be ready to start next year, and he’s going to be a free agent. Are you willing to give him a ton of money to come back and play next year, not knowing where his health is going to be? So, if I’m looking at the Colts, take Daniel Jones out of the equation. What are their options really? They don’t have a first round pick in this year’s draft because of the Sauce Gardner trade. So, they can’t go out and get one of the top quarterbacks in this year’s draft. And I don’t think they have the draft capital really to trade up. I could see a situation where Tua Viloa or Kyler Murray is the starting quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts next year. It sure as hell is not going to be Philip Rivers. Uh, I know he made the comeback this year, but for him to play all 17 games next year is just unrealistic, right? Like he he’s not going to do that. He came back just because maybe another chance to go on a playoff run, but they’re not going to have him be the long-term option there. I don’t think it’s going to be anybody else on this roster. I don’t think it’s going to be um Riley Leonard. I don’t think it’s going to be Brett Ripen. Um Kurt Cousins may be the other option. I those are the only guys I could think of. So, a very me well may be Kyler Murray or Tua as the Colts starting quarterback going into the 2026 season. Great question, Christian. That’s all I got for you on today’s show, folks. 1. Nickname for the texans defense

    Stampede of Shadows

Gives the impression that the defense is everywhere at once and impossible to track until it's too late.
