Mike is always gold on anything he’s on, crazy to me that he played in the NHL because his brain is just different than other athletes who go into media. He clearly prepares a lot and it shows, others should really take notes…

When Mike played for the Leafs, I was driving down Avenue Road when he made a very dangerous turn from his street onto the road in his Range Rover. We ended up nose to nose in our cars and I laid on the horn and locked eyes with him and screamed “Fuck you… Mike Johnson!” For some reason I immediately started laughing and he smiled too and put up his hand as if to say my bad. That’s all. He’s a good analyst but drove like an idiot.
Mike is also solid about volleyball. His kid plays, same age as my kid. Bump into him and chatted several times.
Funny enough, Shannon was also a volleyball dad, and Ross Atkins, and Mr.D.

Mike straight up says Carlo is dealing with a foot injury. Not sure I’ve seen anyone comment on Carlo’s “lower-body Injury” but that’s pretty believable considering he was getting cooked by wingers before he went on IR

He often talks about on ice reads before the broadcast team catches up with the highlights. Vs the intermission guys that are spoon fed highlight packages and reading off the teleprompter.
