Mark Cubans MASTER PLAN Revealed…

Mark Cuban’s master plan has been revealed as the Dallas Mavericks currently don’t have a GM, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have anybody in charge. After we fired Nico Harrison, it was Matt Ricardi as well as Michael Finley who have been put in the driver’s seat to be interim GMs until another GM has been assigned. A lot of people thought that Michael Finley would just move up from assistant GM to the actual GM, but it seems like the Dallas Mavericks have bigger aspirations. is no disrespect to Michael Finley or Matt Ricardi, but we do know for a fact at this current moment, while we don’t have a GM, it’s been Mark Cuban who’s calling the shots. Ever since Nico got fired, Mark Cuban has been the one most vocal about this team. Matt Ricardi hasn’t been public about anything. We know Michael Finley never really says a word. I forgot what even sounds like, but it’s been Mark Cuban who has been very, very vocal about the direction of this team ever since they fired Nico Harrison. It was Mark Cuban who came out and said, “We are not trading Anthony Davis. We want to stay competitive. It was Mark Cuban who threw out the rumor that we may potentially be extending Anthony Davis. We know that Mark Cuban as a minority owner does have some say in the direction of this team and without Nico Harrison, he has more say as of now. But we do know that there is an individual that the Dallas Mavericks have been wanting to come back for a very long time to take this team back to the finals that he helped lead them just a few years ago. So, in this video, we’re going to take a look at the reports around the Dallas Mavericks, Mark Cuban, who’s going to be our next GM and how good was he really when he was with the Dallas Mavericks. But, how’s it going everybody? My name is Marcel Martin. This is Mavericks Digest, bringing you the latest news on everything Mavericks related. And before we get started with today’s video, we are currently sitting at 23,894 subscribers. And I know y’all want more Digest. So, subscribe for more digest. We’re trying to hit 24K before Christmas. I’ll be gone that entire week going to visit some family, take some time off, but I’d love to hit that goal of 24K before Christmas. I’d appreciate it greatly. But the Dallas Mavericks still don’t have a GM. We don’t have one ever since we fired Nico Harrison, but we do know that it is Mark Cuban who’s really been in charge ever since. It’s been him who’s been very vocal to the public over who’s getting traded, who’s staying, what’s going on with the Dallas Mavericks team. And a lot of reporters have told me that it’s Mark Cuban that’s been kind of throwing the nuggets out there over, oh, we’re shopping so and so or oh, this player wants to go there. It’s really been Mark Cuban doing it all. But we do know that if history is our greatest teacher that we really shouldn’t rely on Mark Cuban to make all of the decisions and that he really should delegate that to individuals that might know a little bit more than Mark Cuban. And obviously we do have Michael Finley as well as Matt Ricardi in that interim GM role just to hold it down until someone else comes in for that role that the team obviously feels comfortable with moving forward. And one of the things that the team definitely needs to learn as far as learning from their mistakes is don’t give one man way too much power. Nico Harrison wasn’t just the GM. He was also the president of basketball operations. something that Mark Cuban himself wanted to hold when he sold the team, but because of whatever reason, they just wouldn’t allow that in the sale of the team. Mark Cuban said, “Cool, I’ll just be a minority owner. Y’all trust Nico. I trust Nico.” Fast forward, here we are. But that doesn’t mean that Michael Finley and Matt Ricardi can’t do the job. But you definitely want somebody that you know and trust to hold it down. And just the other day, we did get this report surrounding the Dallas Mavericks and their search for a GM. Well, not this report, but a while ago, we got this report. But per league sources, the Mavericks are likely to wait until the spring to name a permanent GM when the candidate pool widens. I’m also under the impression that experience is going to greatly matter in the search. And this was per Christian P. Clark, a very prominent writer, and this was actually dropped yesterday. The Dallas Mavericks are going to wait until the spring. What’s around springtime? The trade deadline, which does lead me to believe that the Dallas Mavericks may just stay Pat. They may not trade anybody. Anthony Davis will most likely be a Dallas Maverick after the trade deadline. Same as Clay, same as Gaffford. Maybe they trade DLO. I’m not too sure. But I don’t think that we’re gonna make any big changes with Kyrie Irving still being out and without an actual GM. Again, not saying Michael Finley and Matt Ricardi can’t do the job, but you may want someone that’s a little bit more experienced and that’s more prominent in the world of GMs to make the right decisions. Mark Cuban has helped this team in the past try to get players, and we know how great that turned out. But the Dallas Mavericks do have their eye on one individual that has actually helped this team in the past. Actually helped us make it to the finals most recently. And he is currently with another team, but that does not mean we can’t persuade him to come back down to Dallas. We take a look at this report right here that just came out a few weeks ago. It was reported that Mark Cuban wants the Dallas Mavericks to hire Dennis Lindseay as our next general manager. Now, who is Dennis Lindseay? Why does Mark Cuban want him? What does he have to do with the Dallas Mavericks? Well, for those that don’t know who Dennis Lindseay is, he was a senior adviser during the 23-2 24 season. He helped Nico Harrison’s front office implementing key moves like drafting Derek Lively and acquiring PJ Washington before leaving in July of 2024 to become president president of basketball operations for the Detroit Pistons. So, he’s currently employed by the Pistons. That’s a bummer. I mean, we just beat the Pistons, so maybe he can do us a solid and make a nice little trade and then come over to Dallas would totally be tampering. It would be under investigation, but it could still possibly happen. But Dennis Lindseay played a huge role in crafting this team to make it to the finals. I know a lot of people want to give Nico Harrison full credit for getting PJ, getting Gaffford, making sure that we got Kyrie, making sure we drafted Derrick Lively and the fact that we made it to the finals. I’m not here to take away all the credit from Nico Harrison, but we got to give credit where credit is due. And it was Dennis Lindsay who said, “Hey, PJ Washington is the guy that you want.” When you look at the defense, when you look at the offense, the type of player he is and what you need, it’s in PJ Washington. And that was the truth. That’s what we saw. Of course, when we got PJ, his offense really wasn’t that good, but his defense was excellent. And slowly but surely, PJ Washington has grown into a much better player now than when we first got him. He also made sure we got Derek Lively, which at the time was amazing for us as we didn’t have any reliable big man. We were still relying on Dwight Pal at the time. Shout out to the goat Dwight Pal. But Derek Lavy was a muchneeded upgrade who had an amazing rookie season, amazing rookie run in the playoffs going to the finals in his rookie year. It is unfortunate that due to his health and his foot, the majority of the problem is his foot that Derrick Lively is out for the remainder of the season. But it is Dennis Lindsay. It’s the basketball genius that he has that helped craft this team once before. And although he did leave for a better role in Detroit, what’s stopping him from coming right back? There’s no Nico Harrison who was both the GM and president of basketball operations, you could come right back and you could hold both of those positions. I personally trust the person that handcrafted, not handcrafted his entire team, but had a strong hand in getting the players that we needed to go to our most recent finals run. If you remember, it was Nico Harrison who was looking at Kyle Kosma as a potential target during that trade deadline. And then we got PJ Washington, then we got Daniel Gaffron, and then everything changed for the Dallas Mavericks. So now that we do have Cooper Flag, now that we do have Kyrie Irving as well as Anthony Davis and a very good supporting cast that Dennis Lindseay did help curate, why not bring him back? I’m not sure what it would take for him to leave Detroit as they are the number one seed right now. Although they did just lose to the Dallas Mavericks, but they are a very good team right now. He could be thrown a bonus. He could be promised anything in the world to stay in Detroit. They would be dumb to let Dennis Lindsay leave, but the Dallas Mavericks would be even dumber to not try and bring him back. And if I know one thing about Mark Cuban, he knows how to talk to people. And if he wants Dennis Lindsay to come back, then there’s a good chance that he could come back. The Dallas Mavericks have been in the headlines over the last several months about trades, who’s going, who’s coming, and what this team is actually going to do. So, if the Dallas Mavericks are going to wait until the spring to make a decision on their GM, then I truly believe that we’re going to make no moves until we get a GM, whether it’s Dennis Lindseay or someone else, and let that GM handle this team in the off season and for the next season. So, right now, it truly does seem like the Dallas Mavericks are just going to hang tight, see what we can do. If we get a good offer, sure, jump on it. But no major moves until we have the right person in charge that can lead this team in the right direction. But let me know what your thoughts in the comments section down below. Do you think that Dennis Lindsay is the right choice for the Dallas Mavericks? Would you rather have Michael Finley, Matt Ricardi, or maybe Mark Cuban lead this team in the in the decisions of drafting and trading players? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comment section down below. We could have a conversation about it. But that’s all I got for guys today. Thank you for watching the video. 1. Michael Findley was a great player. Was given the job due to friendship relationships which is extremely dangerous in management for a company or sports team. You must understand the talent to complete at the highest level, then ownership must buy into spending the $ to first get the talent but second get the balance of talent to value. The roster must be balanced, Offense to Defense, Starters to Role Players to end of the bench players. Coaches must be smart, flexible and willing to hold every player accountable. The team doctors & staff must accept the responsibility of keeping players healthy & nutritionally charged for peak physical & mental performance. Obviously Nico failed miserably 1st on the Doctors & staff to keep players a peak level. 2nd give him credit he put the perfect players around Luka & Irving (but both were physically worn out when we faced the Celtics, plus the Celtics were a better coached, balanced and complete team. 3rd. The Luka trade was and will go down right along side the Boston Red Sox trading Babe Ruth to the Yankees. Unfortunately that will never leave him. I felt bad for the guy "Fire Nico" everytime he was recognized, had to be brutal on his family. Hopefully he takes his $ and enjoys the rest of his life finding some peace. As for GM. Obviously my first pick would be Dirk who I dont think wants the job. Im.not sure Kidd fits that job description, as with his coaching style you have to get max out of every single player that will never happen tying to be friends. This is professional sports you are judged on one thing? WINNING at the highest most important times & games and winning Championship or at least competing for them.

  2. The 100% key to this years team is Irving. Can he comeback and play at the All Star level. If not then his mins will be taking away from Ryan, Williams & Christie which I think we need those 3 to gain experience & confidence. AD is simply not dependable, hopefully but not realistically is he going to miraculously going to change, he is not getting younger. So Irving comes back. We start Irving, Christie, Flagg,PJ & AD (sorry AD we are better when you play rather than 4). Does this line up take shots & mins away from Flagg? Can this team compete with the Thunder, Nuggets, Rockets & Spurs??? Irving is the only one who can lead us to victory over these top teams. Let's Go Irving, you now are the number 1 opition on a very good team, lead us to the finals like you & Luka did. The East is much much weaker that that Celtics team that beat us last time.

  3. I think Dumont wants a more GM by committee approach after seeing what happened after letting Nico run wild so that there is more accountability and vetting for big decisions. There's ups and downs to that but I kind of get it. The report was Finley was most strongly opposed to the Luka trade so that gives him some credibility in his eyes now
