Yesterday, a three team deal went down between the Rays, the Pirates, and the Astros, sending second baseman Brandon Laauo to Pittsburgh. It’s good to see the Pirates make a move like this. They’re trying to get a little more competitive, and their lineup has needed significant upgrades for a while now, and Brandon Laauo provides just that. He’s one of the better powerhitting second basemans in baseball. He’s hit 20 or more home runs in four out of the last five years, including this past year where he hit 31. And now he heads over to Pittsburgh and joins that lineup with Brian Reynolds, O’Neal Cruz, and will hopefully get the Pirates to be a little more competitive. This is a very solid addition to the Pirates lineup.
