Ran into Chico at the game last night and told him my dad would flip to meet him. Chico asked where we were sitting, and offered to walk with me to our section so he could meet my dad. So cool. Needless to say, my dad was over the moon. The win last night was great, but this moment made the night unforgettable. Let’s go Devils!

  1. Just met him at the game @ flyers in the parking lot he was in hurry to grab food but man he was so nice and cool

  2. It’s kinda ridiculous how nice he, Kenny, Bryce and the gang are. They really do the organization proud.

  3. I met Chico about 30 years ago. I was a young teenager. Unfortunately it was in the men’s room at the urinal. So the pleasantries were short.

  4. Chico is awesome. I once ended up in the fancy seats somehow on the side the radio broadcasts happen. Ran into Chico and just said hey and dude started a full ass conversation with me almost being late for radio. Dude is just genuinely awesome.

    Edit: this was last season

  5. I met him while walking down the street in Prague last year during the Global Series games, he notices me looking at him and he came over and talked a bit. I also met him a couple years ago in the buffet area behind where he sits for the broadcast, he sat down next to me and was chowing down between periods – had good conversation about the food. Nicest guy.

  6. Met Chico many years ago and was lucky enough to get a picture with him. Just the absolute nicest guy, you can tell he loves interacting with the fans.

    Bring back Chico eats!

  7. Chico and Johnny Mac’s numbers should both be retired. Chico should have been first. He was the devils when they first came here. Both on and off the ice. He never changed. Has always had time for every fan. This is a great story but not unique. When the devils first got here and practiced at ice world in Toyota, Chico would be in the parking lot accommodating every fan. I remember taking my nephew when he was four, and Chico was rummaging for anything in his car to give him and found some devils stickers. He’s just a great human being.

  8. Chico is the man. I was in law school when the Pru was being built (opened in my last year). I used to walk around it to think and whatnot and ran into Chico one time. He stayed and talked w me for at least 10 min. Signed the back of a legal pad I was holding. I cut it out and framed it. One of my favorite devils.

  9. Steve and Chico were an excellent pair. I hope they bring them back as guests to announce a game some day.
