This is a NIGHTMARE…

This is a nightmare for Boston Red Sox fans as we have some major Alex Bregman updates as Craig Brezlo continues to sit on his hands and do nothing. We’ll give you all you need to know behind this latest rumor and so much more here today on Red Sox Digest. Welcome everybody. I’m Jace Andrews. I appreciate you watching, tuning in. I know y’all are my die hearts here in almost Christmas time. By the way, merry Christmas. Hope you’re having a great holiday season. Um, I in fact am pissed at Craig Brelo and I think all of us are at this point. Alex Bregman should be a Boston Red Sox for the foreseeable future. That’s my opinion. That’s my take. I feel like everybody has the same agreeance in some aspect. But the Grinch is trying to steal Christmas from me because Craig Brezlo and maybe not Craig, but the entire Red Sox organization, John Henry, the Fenway Sports Group, whatever you want to make your enemy be, are apparently unwilling to give long-term contract extensions. And right now, Alex Bregman is looking for exactly that, a long-term contract extension for five, six years. He wanted that this past offseason, but Craig Brelo ponyed up, gave him the $40 million a year. Now, you have to keep them. You have to keep him. And we’ve got the latest rumors about him potentially not being with the Red Sox um next season. And so, MLB.com posted this article, and it just infuriates me to read. Could the Diamondbacks make a big splash by signing Alex Bregman? Now, here is what came from the article. Steve Gilbert of MLB.com saying, quote, “USA Today’s Bob Nightingale broke the news Tuesday that the Diamondbacks were kicking the tires on free agent third baseman Alex Bregman.” End quote. We have now more information specifically because of this guy. And I know Jared Kurabus is a polarizing figure in Boston sports media, um, specifically Red Sox obviously. And so there’s people who like him, there’s people you don’t. I I if you have the opinion, if you like him, that’s great. If you have opinion, you don’t like him, that’s fine. I personally like him. I think he is a good reporter in a lot of ways, but he said this on Mob Network saying that there was a mystery team involved for Alex Bregman, saying that there is somebody who is not just kicking the tires and it happened to be the Arizona Diamondbacks. Now, we’ve got so much to like think about with this because Alex Bregman did not have the back half of the season we all wanted him to have. Alex Bregman did not look did not look like the same Alex Bregman we saw in the first half of the season as he did in the second due to that calf injury. That all being said, he still was a very good player. 360 on base percentage. Only struck out 70 times in a team that struck out the most in Major League Baseball last year, at least among the top 10 top five area. 18 homers, 62 RBI. And again, this was missing a good chunk of the season. But the biggest thing that he provides to the Red Sox is not on a stat sheet. It’s not something you can find on Baseball Savant. It’s not something that you can even look up. It’s his teaching ability. It’s his ability to make an organization better. Him talking to Roman Anthony and Marcela Meyer after every single one of their first games in the MLB, saying, “Hey, let’s do this. Hey, what’s this?” Quizzing them in the dugout, making them better players. And I don’t know about you, but Roman Anthony seems like a pretty dang good player already. and he seems to get be getting better and better every day. Alex Bregman is a part of that. I love Alex Core. I think he’s a fantastic manager and I am a part of the people who want Alex Gore to keep here. But at the same time, I understand that sometimes a player’s coach is good and it’s it’s it’s Alex Bregman. It is. We also got this uh from Jared Kravis that the Diamondbacks could be willing to go up to six years on a deal with Alex Bregman. Whether or not it’s f guaranteed or five with adoption, we don’t know that yet. But Kabis has had a pretty good inside source given the fact that Jared is well very good friends with Alex Bregman. Him and um Bregman have talked even when he was on the Astros. There was mutual communication and the fun fact is Bregman facetimed Jared as soon as he signed with the Red Sox this past season. Now, the one thing that I’m holding on to in all this and the hope that I’m not going to sit here and pain painstakingly look at this picture and Craig Brelo is that last year it did not look like the Red Sox were going to get Alex Bregman. In fact, it felt like that was just a harsh reality that we weren’t going to get him. And then all of a sudden, Brezlo ponyied up, the organization pony up, and they got him the money. And that was the thing that ultimately got him to Boston. This time around, he’s not asking for the money like he was last year, or at least the Red Sox don’t have to offer it to him, but he’s asking for the years. And we are the Boston MFing Red Sox, and we are grouped in here with the Rockies as the only MLB team alongside them to not sign a big league free agent yet. And all can be erased if you get Bregman back. that all can be erased. I don’t understand where this we’re not going to sign long-term deals come from. If you want to sit here and say it’s because of guys like Pablo Sandival or Hanley Ramirez or contracts that didn’t work out, that’s fine. This is a whole different new front office. And we haven’t gotten the full group of if it’s John Henry and the Fenway Sports Group that doesn’t want to give long-term contracts or if it’s Craig Brelo who doesn’t want to give long-term contracts. But either way, the organization is one of the most profitable ones in all of major sports. And yet we’re sitting here acting like we are a poverty, like we’re a charity case. We should not be looped in with the Rockies for anything. And Alex Bregman, I don’t care what you thought about his back season. He is worth the money just as a coach, just as a player. Oh, might I remind you that last year we signed Bregman and then traded away Rafael Divers because of it. Maybe it wasn’t directly correl or directly because you signed Bregman, you traded Raphael, but it was directly correlated. Signing Alex Bregman profited you to then trade away Rafael Devers. And maybe that would have happened if you got Nolan Aronado. There were reports obviously that if they didn’t get Bregman last year, they were going to go get Areronado. What’s the choice this year, guys? What’s the choice this year? Boat too high a price. Alex Bregman too long years. Kyle Tucker. Why? We’re not a franchise that can sign him. I don’t get it. I don’t get it. I’m getting to a point where I am frustrated to a point. I don’t I don’t know what to do anymore. I love Alex Bregman. I think he’s a first of all, dang good ball player. Second of all, he’s a great face of your organization and you threw that one away. And I know Rafael Evers did not want to be the face of your organization. I understand that. But Alex can be until Roman is fully ready to go. I think Roman at this point is probably already one of the faces or of the organization. It makes no sense to me. We talk about all these plans. They talk about all these things. They always talk a big talk, but as soon as it puts them in the mindset, as soon as it is time to pony up and put their money where their mouth is, they chickenen out. And I’m done with it. And I hope you are, too. And so, I want you to sound off in the comments section. Let off some steam. Tell me in the comments how frustrated you are with the current Red Sox and Craig Preslo and everything that they have just not done this off seasonason after saying they were going to be active this year and the trade deadline and saying we’re going to be active and then they got Dustin May and Steven Mats who by the way both are signed with different teams at this point. Let me know your frustration in the comments and what your biggest pet peeve is right now with them. I just hope something changes. If you get Bubba, I’ll be happy. If you get Alex Bregman, I’ll be happy. If you can go out and get somebody at this point, I’ll be happy. But it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. It doesn’t look like it cuz I’ve gotten my hopes up too many a times to start expecting it. I’ve gotten my hopes up enough where I don’t expect anything anymore. I don’t look at the Red Sox and say they’re going to make that signing. They said they were, so they’re going to do it. No, I I I don’t I don’t. And if Alex Bregman ends up a Diamondback, there’s only one guy to blame. And it’s Craig Brelau. Whether you want to say it’s John Henry for not giving up long-term contracts, fine. I guess Craig Brel is the GM of the Boston Red Sox. And what I want my G to be, I understand it’s not how it works. John Henry’s going to Creo said, “I’m not going to I don’t want five or six year deals.” Be like, “This is a guy we need. Tell him why you need it.” But guess what? Craig Brezlo was not a guy who wanted Alex Burton last year. It was Alex Cora and Sam Kennedy who had to convince him. I don’t get it. The frustration keeps rising and the worst part about it is that it’s true. All the all the truth. Shan McAdam confirmed today. There’s a lot of smoke about Bregman receiving interest from Arizona, interest from other teams willing to go longer on deals than Bregman to the Socks. Seems like a lot of teams are willing to pay a lot more or maybe not pay a lot more or go a lot more years than Alex for Alex Bourbon and the Red Sox. And that’s sad. It’s very sad. Appreciate you watching. Let me know in the comments section what you think. I’ll see you next time. Peace out guys.

  1. This f**** Breslau is nothing but a clown he's a yes man to John Henry that's why Henry will never get rid of them because he's his puppet we're going to miss out on every Big Time free agent out there just watch will end up with secondary scraps!!!

  2. Mr. Commentator…….wake up. Mr. Breslow may likely know exactly what he is doing, which you just do not "get". First, Bregman was never worth $40 Million/yr or $30 M now. For what? .270 hitter???.NO. His teaching ability??? You are delusional. I'm pleased Breslow is sitting on his hands, deliberately….hoping he just goes away, and we get to play Meyer or Campbell, or a FA that hits more, for half the price.

  3. Jesus christ. Forget Alex bregman. Hes not worth long term contract. Im so sick an tired of this man already. Reason y people want him back is because there is nobody else to get. That's sad to say.

  4. Intangibles are important however, i dont see the value in giving a 32 year old player a 6 year 170 million dollar contract. He is a slightly above average fielder, slightly above average hitter at this point and spent half the season hurt last year. 5 years 130mil should be their limit on him. Missing on Alonso was a mistake

  5. Can't wait till he signs with another team, bregmans a bust at this point. My prediction .250 avg with 15 home runs, how soon you forgot how bad of a 2024 season he had, he don't make players that much better.

  6. I feel like none of these players wanna come and work for Craig Breslow or cut a deal with him. He seems like a weirdo. I sure wouldn’t wanna work for him. How do we get rid of Craig Breslow?

  7. The more. N more. John Henry. N co. Play scrooge..the major league players. Will. Secretely boycot plsying there. N only hurt Red Sox Nation..i love Bregman..alway's have.. "" hey John Henry. Judt sell the team. All of Red Sox Nation should Boycot fenway park.
