Some interesting facts:
1) this is a test, but it is automatically triggered after a Blue Jackets Goal, thanks to a call to a free NHL API
2) it’s running on a Raspberry Pi Zero 2W
3) it actually triggers faster than the Blue Jackets app goal alert
4) All programmed in python
5) Actually controls a total of four lights around my house, but easier to demo just the one
6) Yes, I have way too much time on my hands.
Happy to answer other questions!

Holy shit this is amazing. I’d have no idea how to do something like this. Have a tutorial?
What’s the source of your data?
Do you have it in GitHub?
I’ve always kind of wanted a mini version of that cannon that “goes off” in real-time after a goal. This might be the inspiration I need to get that project going.
This awesome , thank you for your service 🫡
If it doesn’t do chili on the third goal, I’m out
