Things somehow just got even BETTER for the Wild…
This has somehow gotten even better for the Minnesota Wild. After another dominant win, this time against the Edmonton Oilers, the Wild saw multiple players continues to step up and exceed expectations in the light of five players returning to this lineup as well as Philip Gossipson shutting things down after this first period. This Wild team has a lot on their plate and even in this game where there were some stuff up in the air, they showed that they were made for where they are. Ladies and gentlemen, we have a lot to break down here in today’s video. Before we do jump into it, I ask you guys one favor and that’s if you want to stay up to date with this Minnesota Wild team. We’re getting videos out every single day and a lot of days, two times a day. So, you will not want to miss it. We’re going to keep you updated with everything here on the channel. Now, we got to jump straight into this. And I now I didn’t get a video out this morning. Wanted to wait. Well, this was a matinea game. Didn’t want to I kind of rush you guys to watch anything before the game, of course, since it was pretty early. But maybe that was some good luck because heading into today’s game, you can see the sheer amount of positivity from this hockey stat card. And going from top to bottom, it was just about perfect on the team defense side of things. team offense not usually something that I consider uh you know a major factor more so than everything else here on this stat card but the sheer amount of positive here is genuinely insane whether is team defense individual offense individual defense and team offense even for some players it really goes to show how well and overall uh you know solid this team did play here in this game now you did get your offense as normal up top Matt Baldi with two goals yeah um having Vladimir Terosenko could have been two goals, but he dished that puck over to Nico Sturm here for that empty net. This team on offense is something else. And I really feel like getting these five players back that we’ve been missing after missing seven in the most recent set of games, this team played to just another level. And there was a lot of people who were thinking that, hey, maybe these guys returning to the lineup will cause the Wild a bit of issue, believe it or not, because of how well this team has been playing with some of their other players, some of the Iowa players here in the lineup. But as we know, this Wild team plays so well together regardless of who is in the lineup. So, it worked out very, very well. And I mean, just looking at how this game did turn out, 37 shots against this Oilers team who are very, very dominant when they can control the puck in the offensive zone. And we saw that in the third period near the end when they did pull Calvin Pickard towards that, you know, three to four minute mark whenever they did pull him. They’re really good in their in their offensive end, especially when they have Dry Cidle and McDavid on. And although those guys really did start to see a little bit of something going, you saw them do a very good breakout, the Wild defense and especially Jonas Broaddin, who is such a nice asset to have back, shut them down so many times, just like we saw in the first matchup between these two teams. Jonas Broaddin being the key to this team really shutting down McDavid and Dry Sidelin. That was the exact same thing here in this game. with the Wild continuing to win on the faceoff unlike last game where they were, you know, I believe it was so close on 6040 for the Washington Capitals or uh no, it was the Columbus Blue Jackets, excuse me, against the Blue Jackets. That was a game where you really saw the difference there. when they’re Wilder winning faceoffs, being able to get control in the offensive zone in their own end whenever they can get the puck off a draw, you really start to see how good this team is with the breakout and with everything going in favor for this team. Now, looking at the goals once again, crazy first period there. The goalie settled in towards the second. Calvin Pickard, credit where credit is due, played very, very well this game and as did Philip Gustoson. tried to outshine his other goalie uh that was on the ice with him in Kelvin Pickard. But in the third period, that’s when the Wild really stepped up once again. Vladimir Terosenko has shown some incredible plays over these past seven games in specific where he did get five goals and I believe uh you know once again he could certainly be getting more once that example of being in the third period giving that puck to Nico Sturm who I believe that was his second goal this season. So very smart, you know, kind of wholesome play there by Vladimir Terasenko. But whatever result that this team is getting whenever you’re looking at it, the offense has been something that whichever set of lines you use has shown that they are capable of just about anything. And of course, keeping that line of Vladimir Terasenko, Yakov, Trenan, as well as Denilov, that line has continued to exceed every single expectation I think was put on there. That line to me when that was made really seemed more of a developmental kind of line with some chemistry already for Denilov, but that line has turned out to be one of the best lines, not just on the Wild, but in the NHL and has continued to do so over these last 10 games or so. And it really comes down to how both of the top two lines and even going down to the bottom six, this entire set of offense has been doing exceptionally well. And I mean you’re looking at the time on ice. There’s only a few players here that are actually a bit lower and that being Vini Hinstrosza and Marcus Felino, but everybody else really in well I guess you can consider Nikico Sturm as well there for that fourth line. You can really consider everybody else being a mid-tier borderline second line especially going from you know 13 to around 17 15 minutes time on ice there. This offense has been able to just control whoever they’re playing against in this win streak. But overall as well this past past nearly calendar month and the same has gone for the defense and especially in this game where you see everybody healthy. to see the guys you get back. And although a lot of that was due um to injuries on the offensive and defensive side of things, losing your pretty much entire left side except for Quinn Hughes, you saw not necessarily the struggle because Matt Kierstead, Carson Lambos, Damon Hunt, they’ve all been playing exceptionally well when in the lineup, but it’s very very difficult to beat Quinn Hughes, Yonas Broaddin, and Jake Middleton. So seeing these guys back, seeing the way that they were able to play here, shut down McDavid dry side, but this entire Edmonton team, it’s hard to say that things have gotten better, but they have now that this lineup is continuing to get healthy. And I would say this is just one little speed bump. Although it is a win, it’s going to be a little bit of time to get back to, you know, your regular form for those guys who were out, the teammates who were playing over this time, who were not injured, getting used to those guys back in here now. So being able to do this in their first game back, a massive, massive, massive win here. And of course, one guy that really once again held us in this game, especially in the second and third period, Philip Gustoson. 26 saves and 28 shots here in this game, continuing to show that that contract that he signed, is an absolute steal compared to what a lot of other goalies in the NHL are making. So having a tandem of Walstead who’s in that tomorrow against the Colorado Avalanche, Philip Gustoson here tonight, this team continues to show at every level that they are here. They are not afraid of whatever is going to be put in front of them and they’ll just go and continue to work. And like I said, somehow it’s gotten better from even the last game, the game before that, the game before that. People are getting healthy. Players are playing better. The chemistry is starting to evolve with Quinn Hughes. your goalies are still exceeding every expectation put on them as well. It has been a very good time to be a Minnesota Wild fan. Now, we do have a few more updates here. Mainly the injuries and one more here in a minute. Zack Bego and Damon Hunt are the only two out right now, but luckily this Wild defense has gotten back healthy for the most part. You’re going to want to see Beosin back in there eventually. him being in this lineup bringing the leadership that he has teaching a lot of these younger players whether or not it is on the ice off the ice we saw what he was able to do with Zeve he’s an important part of this team so having him back will be great having Damon back hunt healthy takes a lot of pressure off John he bill garham and this wild team now we do have one more update is here another very good stat to really prove where this wild team is all coming from how this is all happening and this came with about 5 minutes left in the game. So, I would add there was probably five to 10 more block shots here from the Wild, but Michael Russo tweeted this out with a few minutes left in the game that the Wild blocked 17 shots while the Oilers have only blocked five. Feel like that really comes into play with how the score turned out. The Wild were aggressive. They were fighting. Vladimir Terasenko’s goal, not a nice goal whatsoever, but keeping with that play, reading the play and making that very, very, very smart on his part. And that’s why he’s been such an integral part of this team. And it’s been one player that over the last month that I would say has really been a candidate for, you know, a player of the month for this Wild team, even though it could be just about everybody. So Matt Baldi, you know, coming in with another two goal game. How many times have we said he was on hat-tick watch? Coming in with then Vladimir Terosenko, when is he going to stop scoring? The goalenders, whoever you put in, you can trust them. This Wild team is on absolute tear. And ladies and gentlemen, the biggest game of the season so far comes tomorrow against the Colorado Avalanche. I’ll be having a video tomorrow before the game giving you the updates from practice or skate as well as a postgame after that. So, expect two videos tomorrow, but you’re going to want to make sure to hit the sub button and the bell so you stay up to date with whenever we post and be the first to tune in to get your wild news. But ladies and gentlemen, that is all I have here in this video. If you did enjoy, give it a like, hit the sub button as well. I’m signing out. Thank you for watching. Hope you have a great day. See you later.

Oilers have a top O line. So does the Wild, but we have better D and deeper O.
Good game….. I have some PTSD over all the Minnesota injuries in the past 3 years. Tomorrow Colorado! Let's Go!
They've scored at least 5 goals in every game since the big trade. Coincidence?

Blues fan just dropping off to say how much I still love Tarasenko. Such a selfless player and great teammate. Glad you’re not wasting him while he’s still got a lot to give, like Detroit did.
