The Indianapolis Colts Get HUGE Boost of Good News!

The Indianapolis Colts just got probably the best news you can hope for. And this may be the turning point to rewrite the season and end on a high note, making the playoffs, doing whatever we can to salvage um what was lost. We’re going to cover all that and more on this video. The Colts have been missing obviously a key portion of this defense, not only in terms of talent, but in terms of leadership, and that has been Deorest Buckner. Um Deorest Buckner has missed um several several weeks. Um he went out around the same time as Shavarius Ward earlier in the season um due to a neck injury and I I think when we first saw that didn’t really think much of it. It was honestly just considered out. He didn’t get immediately put on the injured reserve and then all of a sudden it came out he was being put on the injured reserve and next thing you know he’s flying to some South American country or Central American country um to get treatment that isn’t authorized in the US for some nerve endings to reset his neck and all this stuff. It was honestly kind of a wild time and the Colts have obviously missed him. Their run defense has plummeted since this time. Um, and their QB pressure has also taken a massive hit as they have nothing in the middle aside from Grover Stewart who does his job as being a brick wall, but doesn’t necessarily get pressure um as much. He’s done well as of recent uh maybe in the past couple years, but it’s just not what he’s known for. Whereas DeForest Buckner being that more lean set defensive tackle has been that guy. Well, as of today, the Colts have activated DeForest Buckner and will hope to see him on Monday. He is officially listed as questionable. Um, and this, I think, is again a huge injection into this defense. The Colts before Buckner left were 7-1. Um, this was obviously um long before everything reset and now them find themselves at 8 and six. Um, and this is they will they have to win out their last games in order to make the playoffs to do anything. They have to win out. Honestly, when you see the the um pro probabilities of making playoffs and the possibilities and like what everyone needs, they’re not even listing the Colts anymore, even though the Colts are only eight and six. And I think if you had told us that the Colts were eight and six at this point before the season, I think everyone would have been like, “Oh, that’s great. That’s not where I expected us to be. We’re kind of in like a who are they?” um sort of situation as far as who where the team is. So I think there was a lot of speculation in that regard. Um but now to see where we started at 7-1 now being at 8 and six, winning only one of our last six games and looking ahead to three of the more tough opponents in the NFL with the um 49ers on Monday. And then you have the 49ers who are gunning for a number one seed in the uh NFC. Not only that, but to get a division title and all of the things that come with that. They were able to win all of this with uh M. Jones as their quarterback. A and that that’s I think in and of itself pretty surprising. Not a Mac. Jones hater, just honestly surprised to see where they were able to go with M. Jones and the amount of injuries that the 49ers have had historically that it’s just been their MO. It’s been for so long. They are just a incredibly injured team. Um, but to get DeForest Buckner back, now the history of this, if if you don’t remember, DeForest Buckner was actually drafted by the San Francisco 49ers. Um, went to the Super Bowl with them in their first Super Bowl against the Chiefs and then, um, was traded for a first round pick. This is the first in a slew of first round picks that the Colts were trading away. Um, and this was Deorest Buckner. The next year it was the Carson Wentz trade, um, that brought him over. And so DeForest Buckner has been a part of this team for a majority of his career now. will go down as a great Colts, but he started his career with the San Francisco 49ers and actually played the throughout his entirety of um his rookie contract and actually I think he was on his last year of his rookie contract when he got traded over regardless was a was a prominent part of that defense. Obviously, anytime a defensive tackle warrants a first round pick and honestly it wasn’t considered even considered a bad trade. I think it’s to say he’s a good defensive player. But since coming over the Colts, he has been a absolute wrecking ball. Honestly, missing very little time and just being a guy that is just a long time um he’s just a disruptor whether it’s in the run game or the pass game. It feels like DeForest Buckner is always there. He’s one of the four guys on the stadium at um Lucas Oil Stadium. And so um I think it’s it’s to say a lot. And this is what DeForest Buckner had to say um going into this week. He said, “I still know some of the guys on this team, still got some buddies on the team. Um, it’s always going to be fun to go up against them and to see them on game day. Uh, Buckner will add some much needed veteran leadership to the Colts defense. Before going back or before going down with his injury, the former Oregon Duck registered four sacks, 42 tackles, and he’s uh currently has an overall grade of 74.9 from PFF. It’s 11th highest among 129 defensive interiors. I think honestly again you look at that and that’s to say he’s say he’s the 11th best defensive tackle which I think again I would put him even higher than that but that’s great but does not even to account for what he does leadership wise to this Colts team. He’s a guy that is constantly following the ball. He is constantly right there. Um when someone makes a mistake, he’s right there. When someone does something great, he’s right there. He is this leadership team. And you think about historically who the Colts have had in that role of being just an on the- field leader. You think way back to like Dwight Freeny, Robert Madden. Dwight Freeny for a lot of us isn’t way back. I my myself not like Dwight Freen is not that that far back. But it for some people it is a a way far back to go to see Dwight Freeny. But um even then so far and so far and so far the Colts have always had this defensive leader on the great teams. You had Bob Sanders um there for a while. Robert Matthysse was that guy for a long time. Um even some guys with shorter stints like Justin Houston, remember seeing him as more of a leader. That has been for this Colts defense that has been this on the- field leader. And it’s good to see him back. It’s good to see him come back. And honestly, if anyone can help us write the ship, I don’t think it’s going to be 44y old Philip Rivers. Although he did play very well last week and I was kind of impressed. Um, and more on the quarterback situation here in just a moment. But to see all that, I think it is incredibly important. But also going back to the quarterback thing, what the heck is going on with Anthony Richardson? Apparently, he has still a good portion of vision missing from the eye of the uh of the orbital bone that was that was broken. Still missing vision, but he’s medically cleared to play. Um they actually there was questions asked throughout his co without the coaching staff and some other people if he would be willing to switch positions due to this um I whatever um that’s going on. So he’s not activated um yet. He’s the 21day practice window is open though he is not yet activated for Sunday. Um the Colts as far as I know um had to have that done by today Saturday even though they are playing Monday. So, the Colts get an 8 day week. Though, for all intents of purposes, um Tuesday is still the start of the week and um Saturday is still the end of the practice week. So, all roster decisions have to be made before then. Um so, all that being said, what the heck’s going on with Anthony? We don’t have any answers on that. Um but going back to what DeForest Buckner adds, it it just adds more veteran leadership, especially to a very new Colts defense. Um it’s either very young in guys like Nick Cross, who are just now 24, 25 years old. Um or it’s guys like Traverus Ward and Cambinham who have not been in the building before um this past season. There are a lot of guys Leatu Latu is another example of guys who are just young and and new and don’t have that experience yet um of being in this Colts team. Decear has been around for it all. He’s been around um for Philip the first time, Phil the second time and so many other things in between. And so it’s good to have him back. He is going to be a wrecking ball and it’s good to see him back going against his former team who we don’t get to play very often and to go against them in Lucas Oil Stadium. This is going to be a very, very good game. As it does seem, 49ers are currently betting odd favorites, but expect to see the Colts make a really strong push, especially in the defensive field, to reset that and hopefully um get a good win and and rewrite the ship as we continue to to hope and get um to the potentially uh to the potential of getting into the playoffs.

  1. The Packers are devastated with injuries, yet are solidly in the playoffs (and other teams have been devastated and are in the playoffs). The Colts are just awful and next man up, terrible. Tired of hearing all the excuses. Ballard and Steichen have to go, both of them, be gone. Even if the Colts win out, they have to have help bro, winning out is not enough. And we all know that this team could never, ever win a game on the road in Houston. Steichen is a choke-artist. Texans were winning with Davis Mills, we got obliterated by Daniel Jones' turnover disaster game in Pittsburgh before he was even injured. Again, this Colts organization needs a colonic.
