Why The Dodgers Could Sign Bo Bichette After This BIG Update! Breaking Down Bichette’s Fit In LA!
Bo Bashett as a potential reagent candidate for the Dodgers and everyone’s talking about Kyle Tucker, everyone’s talking about Cody Bellinger and rightfully so because they need an outfielder. They’re in the market for an outfielder. But Bo Bashette, if you’re looking for a guy that just straight up rakes, that tears the cover off of baseballs. I don’t like the way he stared at Show Otani after he hit that threerun home run in game seven of the World Series. But we know shi if you’re good against him it might be a reason why you sign him. So I think they would look past that. But Bob Bashette if you’re looking to improve the Dodgers offense with a bat an impact bat Bo Bashette certainly is someone I like this comment right here from Craig. Bo knows baseball. Shout out to Bo. I like the name Bo. Bo Jackson. Bo Burnham. Bo Bridges. Uh Bo Sham Beckler. Red name, all kinds of bows. All right, listen to this from MLB Network talking about the possibility of the Dodgers pursuing Bo Bashette. When we come back, we’re going to take a deeper dive into show Bette. So, we all have a friend or relative for whom you can’t buy because they already have everything. That’s how we would describe the Los Angeles Dodgers. What in the world could be left on their wish list? >> Well, you know, they still need lineup help. their their lineup was uh kind of hot and cold last year and you know beyond their big dogs they they do have some positional issues. So I would I would wish for them for Bo Bashette for a couple reasons. I mean one he fills a need at at second base where they they did not get much production at second base. If you signed a Bette put him there you know now you can use Tommy Edmond in the outfield which the outfield needs some support uh defensively and offensively. So I like that and but more importantly guys I like the narrative. I like the troll job that this would be, you know, to sign the one of the key pieces of the heart and soul of Blue Jays. And the Blue Jays then pivot to Kyle Tucker and you have the two best teams of baseball from last year getting better in different ways, but also this narrative of should they meet again in the World Series somehow. You know, that was a great World Series, but now you’d have this little emotional element tied to it, too, with Bo Bashette now being on the other side. So, that’s what I root for. So, Bo Bashette, we know when it comes to infielders that can hit, is right up there. He he’s right up there. And his 2024 season wasn’t great. He missed time. He had a couple calf strains early in the year. He ended up coming back later that year. He had a a fractured finger when he was hit by a pitch. It was just not a good season. And he ends up with a 70 weighted runs created plus hitting 225 81 games. And the big question this year was, would Bo Bashette bounce back heading into his platform year, heading into free agency? And he absolutely did. He did suffer that that PCL injury to his knee. That’s why he didn’t play for most of the postseason and came back in the World Series. But unlike Kyle Tucker, who had a down year in 2025 because of some of the issues that he was having with injuries, Bob Bashette dealt with injuries, but also performed when he was out there. And he’s young. So Dave Roberts did say in Orlando that getting young and kind of infusing this team with some youth was something that they were going to think about, something they were going to have a part of the calculus as far as roster construction. Bo Bashette, he is on the free agency side, someone that’s certainly on the younger side. A lot of times you see guys go to free agency, it’s they’re 30, this or that. He’s still 27 years old. He does not turn 28 until March 5th. So, next year will be his age 28 season. And the year he had last year, look at the numbers. Hit 311, had a 357 on base, a .483 slug, was 34% better than league average, had a 134 weighted runs created plus offensively. The strikeout rate was the lowest of his career at 14.5%. A 6.4 walk rate. That’s a little lower than league average, but still was a careerhigh for him. And he also had a career low chase rate. And he was great when it came to the contact rates and not just balls in the zone, but balls out out of the out of the zone, off the plate. So, offensively, he had his best year really. I mean, this is a a player that is not an MVP caliber player, but he’s someone that is a specialist with the bat. And he even got off to not a slow start, but really just took it to a whole another level in the middle of the summer before that injury from July 6th to September 6 was slugging 591, hit 381, almost hit 400, struck out 11% of the time, walked 8.8% of the time. I mean, those are insane. And if he didn’t get injured, he put himself in a much better position to get a bigger deal. But he sprained that PCL on September 6th and did not play until the postseason. And in seven games in the World Series, went eight for 23, had as many walks as strikeouts, had four strikeouts, four walks, had that big three-run home run in game seven, hit 348, had a 444 on base and a 478 slug. So he absolutely rake last season and the question I think the Dodgers have that no one’s talking about is yes the rotation even without Terrick Scubal is stacked but the offense they looked old at times in the postseason they were averaging less than four runs per game for most of that postseason. Thankfully, you had the home run ball come up in a big way with Max Muny and Miguel Rojos and Will Smith all coming up with big bombs in game seven. But the offense, they did not explode in the postseason. Even with the big exploits of Showi Otani, even with the NLCS game four, even with World Series game three where he had two home runs and two doubles, even with Show Otani and and Freddy Freeman having some moments, Mookie Betts had a down postseason and an offense that’s on the older side, if they ran it back with the same exact offense, would you feel that confident about this team in the postseason? I mean, Kik had a down year offensively, but I still trust him. Tay Oscar Hernandez has had a down year offensively. I’m hoping he bounces back. Mookie Bett’s down year offensively. Maxy has gotten some injuries, had some injuries last couple seasons. When he’s out there, we know he’s great. We know he’s elite. He’s my starting third baseman, no doubt about it. But you start to look at everything. Tommy Edmond coming back from an ankle injury and ankle surgery. How well is he going to perform? Andy Paw has had some ups and downs. Freddy Freeman even had a long-term Freddy Freeman the longest slump of his career last year. Will Smith has been seeing less time at catcher. And Dave Roberts told me that even next year they’re probably going to play more Dolan Rush behind the dish than they had for most of the season. So you look at all those factors and yes, you do want to resolidify the bullpen. Yes, you want to sign the best players at the positions of need, but there is no doubt about it that if the Dodgers don’t infuse the lineup with some offensive prowess with a guy like a Bobette, a Cody Bellinger, a Kyle Tucker, a a trademark at piece like Steven Quan, Jiren Durant, a guy like that that unless you get elite starting pitching and elite performance from the bullpen next year that the offense is going to have to step up and get key base hits and slug when they need to. And Bo Bashett will be an incredible addition. I think the the the only drawbacks to Bob Bashette when you think about it are defensively he’s really not a shortstop at this part of his career. Defensively last year, a minus12 defensive run saved, a minus3 ounce above average, and we even saw in the World Series dealing with that bum knee, it was Andreas Jimenez that was playing short and Bob Bashette was at second base. So if you put Bo Bashette at second base, you essentially lock up that position. So you’re not taking advantage of the versatility of Tom Yeman who’s won a Gold Glove there and you put him in a position to where he would have to play more center field. So, I think the big question the Dodgers would have to answer would be if you entertain the idea of signing Bo Bashette, how confident are you that Tommy Edmond can be your center fielder, that Tommy Edmond and his ankle can be trusted to stay healthy and avoid long injury stints playing the outfield? Because Tommy Edmond is the Swiss Army knife. His value comes from the fact that you could play him at second, play him at center, play him at short, play him at third if you need to move him around the diamond. I think that you could certainly see him at at at third base potentially if Maxie went down. We saw that last season, but you would really be committing to Bo Bashette at the at the keystone. He’d be your second sacker, right? He would be the guy him and Mukie Betts would be your keystone combination, second and short. But another positive in this would be a lot of people that I talked to in Orlando at the winter meetings, people that covered the the Toronto Blue Jays, they told me that eventually you could see Bo Bashette move to third base. And right now the Dodgers don’t have a long-term solution at third base. They did not sign Maxy to an extension. He is only under contract for one more season. You could slide Bobette over to third base and then what does that mean for Hung Kim? As Kim comes off the bench, maybe he gets developed more in the outfield. He take advantage of his speed, take advantage of his youth. So, I mean, that is kind of the the cell job there on Bo Bashette. Now, the other thing is this, though. If you’re Bo, why haven’t you signed with the Toronto Blue Jays yet? Is it because the Blue Jays are in the mix for Kyle Tucker? Is it because the Blue Jays are sniffing around the trade market or are waiting for big free agents to get signed so that trade market will start to develop? Or is it because you’re thinking maybe we’re going to go in a different direction? It almost reminds me of the Freddy Freeman situation. It almost reminds me of when Freddy Freeman, who everyone thought was going to be the Mr. brave of his generation. Take that torch from Chipper Jones, get a statue outside of Truis Park in Atlanta, go down as Mr. Brave 2.0, the Mr. Brave of his generation. But what happened? The Braves did not give him that extra year. They traded for Matt Olsen. There was some friction between him and the organization, him and his agent. I’ve broken that down so many times on this show. But the point is, and I can tell you that the Dodgers, they put on the fullcourt press early on with Freddy Freeman. He had a relationship with Justin Turner. And of course, as the famous story goes, they were at uh at the at a wedding and I want to say it was Kenley Jansen’s wedding if I’m not mistaken. And they FaceTimed Freddy Freeman right before the lockout and that had a big impact on him. And then the Dodgers, they were just hanging around, hanging around, waiting to get that rebound, waiting for an opportunity. And who knows, maybe that could be the case with the Toronto Blue Jays and Bob Bashette and the Dodgers that if the Blue Jays don’t make him an aggressive offer, something in the $200 million range, and he’s exploring his other options, not only does he say, “Hey, screw the Blue Jays, a team that Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has already said he wants me back. We just made it to the World Series. I was good in the World Series. I was a part of this core that helped turn things around in Toronto. Hey, not only am I not gonna go back with you guys, I’m going to go to the Dodgers. The team just beat you. So, all I’m saying is if you’re looking to improve the offense and you don’t and Kyle Tucker is going to get a three or $400 million deal, Bobette could be a really good option. If I had to pick between the three, if I had to pick between giving Kyle Tucker $300 to $400 million or Cody Bellinger 5 years, 6 years, something $170 million range potentially or Bo Bashette, a guy that’s younger that is a better hitter than Cody Bellinger at this stage of his career. I think Kyle Tucker at his best is the best of the bunch. There’s no doubt about that. But I would definitely consider Boette. You guys know I’ve had a thing for Bo for years now. And I’m kind of mad that he cut the hair and I miss the show the show flow show Bashet hair. But I certainly think he’s a he’s a guy that checks off a box too. I remember speaking to Stan Cass and Dodgers president and Andrew Freeman and and the truth is there is that extra layer. There is that extra box that that’s doesn’t show up on a baseball reference page. It doesn’t show up on a baseball savvante page. It’s not on fan graphs. It’s not a stat. It’s the hey, does that guy look feel like a Dodger? Does that guy kind of look like a guy that you could sell as a Dodger to fans? Bo Bashette would be extremely popular. The young fans with with with the name Bashette, of course, his his dad Dante Bett. So, yeah, that that’d be my sell job right there on Bo. Now, the sell job on Kyle Tucker, I think, is pretty simple. it is. And we broke down his numbers yesterday. We know that when he’s fully healthy and when he’s at his best, he’s a a top 10 to 15 hitter in Major League Baseball. He’s not sitting at the table with Aaron Judge, show Otani, and Juan Sodto. He’s not one of those guys, but at his best, he does Sodto- like things where he walks as much as he strikes out. He has some good play discipline. Doesn’t have a ton of power, but can get you 30 home runs, can steal you 20 plus bases. not a great defender, but you can can trust him as a as a dependable outfielder. I think the perfect scenario for the Dodgers and Kyle Tucker is that his market creators, he wants to sign a multi-year deal with opt outs, get 40 plus million dollars for one season in LA. Hopefully has an all-star year, performs great in the postseason, and then test the market and gets that 10, 11 year deal that he still wants at the age of 30. So, he’s not the guy I want long term, but Bobett’s the guy that I would I’d be considering a longerterm deal with. But give me your thoughts on Boba.

I've been saying LA should prioritize Bo over Tucker or Belli since the start of the offseason. For the short-term, he'd be team's starting 2B, putting Edman in the OF, which would be less stress on Edman's ankle than playing 2B. Bo could be LA's long-term 3B once Muncy retires, w/ Tommy moving back to 2B.
I also prefer Bo because he's projected at getting a lower AAV contract than Tucker (not that this matters much to the Dodgers) & he's younger than both Belli & Tucker.
It's also worth noting that most of LA's top position player prospects are outfielders so there's more organizational depth in the OF than in the INF.
Im 4 Bo bro
Please sign him.
How many All-Stars do the Dodgers need? Let the lockout begin.
I can’t believe you are trying to get people excited by a man who hit 18 home runs in 2025, 4 home runs in 2024 and only 20 home runs in 2023. This is not a true must have free agent this is a JAG ( Just Another Guy) ….he played well in the playoffs, which is good but there have been many players who shined in one playoff season. This man is not worth over $100 million contract and if any team gives it to him they are insane ….over the past three seasons this man has averaged 14 home runs a season …Stop the Nonsense
Let's get Bo AND Tucker. And Skubal. We're the Dodgers. Let's ruin baseball some more. 🙂
I like the idea of getting Bo. It’s better than overpaying for Tucker or Belli.
Yes, get Bichette, especially since he is willing to play second base!
I personally woukd like to see H.S. Kim play more add Freeland back… I dont want Bichette… dont sell him to us DMAC 😅
Get Bo
8 yrs 200m
Got Kim, Edman & Freeland, get the OF’er & play Rushing!
Get Bo and get Kyle you already passed on the Korean 3rd baseman also the Japenese 3rd baseman. Going to miss out on Donavon as well
Bo Bichette is the big one I have been waiting for. Let's get it done!
Give Bo 5 years 180 million
😂 If you can’t beat em?!!!!….
A lot of Ddogers had down years. Mookie had serious illness to start the season and he never got untracked. Muncy was hurt a good portion of the season. Teo was down from 2024 and was Kike and Tommy. If these guys stay healthy and return to form, we will be fine with or without Bo.
The Dodgers did look old batting in the playoffs. I thought the Jays had better bats and speed. Let’s go Bo
bo will only use dodgers as leverage. but hey i dont care if bluejays overpay him 😂
We need outfielders.
I think signing Bo Bichete and acquiring Jaren Duran would be the best thing for us rn🔥🔥🔥🔥
If they were to sign Bichette, ok by me.
BUT an OF who excellent on both sides of the ball is more important. OF defense especially must be addressed.
Toronto might riot.
Steven Kwan!|!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,, D
No thanks! Don't waste money on some showboating little guy
Let’s get Bo, Duran and Skubal 🎉let’s get it done and Dodgers will win 5years in a row 🎉This is the year or time to acquire them let’s goooo 🎉
i would love bo
Contact 300 hitter- would be a plus!
Depends on how much he costs. But I would try to get him
Big IF, if the Snakes would be willing to trade Marte to the Dodgers, I rather give a sizable trade offer to AZ than get Bo.
Give Kim a chance to be an everyday and find out if he can do it. He’s got great speed, let’s see what he can do with consistent at bats.
Sign Bellinger who is what you really need and give Kim more opportunities. Be done with it. Bichette is losing his legs and he’s young. Concerning.
DODGER DON'T NEED BO BICHETTE DODGER HAS ENOUGH PLAYERS TO PLAY THE INFIELD.
Only Bo knows
No he’s injury prone
LOL, Toronto ain't gonna let the the Dodgers steal Bo Bichette, he'll take the Dodgers' offer back to Toronto and they'll match it.
Bo don't know Dodgers
AREN'T WE LOADED WITH YOUNG OUTFIELDERS? ⚾⚾⚾⚾
The only reason why Bichette would be staring at Ohtani now is to get a glimpse of his World Series ring.
We need to cover teos spot lol
