Miami Marlins TRADE Edward Cabrera To New York Yankees? | MLB Trade Rumors

So, could the Miami Marlins be trading away Edward Cabrera to the New York Yankees this 202526 MLB off season? Well, here on the screen is a trade idea or a trade proposal from bleachport.com. The link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself, but this trade would see the New York Yankees acquiring starting pitcher Edward Cabrera from the Miami Marlins for outfielder Jason Dominguez. So, there’s been a lot of speculation regarding the New York Yankees this off season. They have been relatively quiet so far uh despite a lot of the top players slowly coming off the board. Now they could still be in the running for players like Cody Bellinger, Kyle Tucker, etc. But I think addressing the starting pitching market has to be a priority for them given their current status of the rotation and the injuries uh that’ll start off with the team in 2026. So by the Yankees going out there and acquiring Edward Cber from the Marlins, this would be a step in the right direction for them. And I think the price tag for him, relatively speaking, wouldn’t be that high. If you’re only giving it away, in this case, Jason Dominguez, that’s a pretty good trade for the Yankees in my opinion. So, this past year for Cabrera in Miami put up a pretty solid season. A 2.8 war, eight wins, seven losses, an RA of 3.53. In 26 games played, he had 137 innings pitched, 150 strikeouts, and a whip of 1.228. So, I think the best part about Edward Cabrera is the fact that he is under team control until after the 2028 season. So, getting this player on a relatively cheap deal for three more years, I think would be actually a pretty good move for the Yankees. And after only giving up uh Jason Dominguez, who might not even have a full-time spot next year in this Yankees lineup. This would be some pretty good work for Brian Kman, which has been a relatively, I would say, underwhelming off seasonason so far for the Yankees. Uh they’ve lost players specifically in their bullpen, and they’ve really yet to address that position in my personal opinion. So Edward Cabrera, as I mentioned before, a very cheap player under team control for three more seasons, especially with Garrick Cole and Carlos Rodon starting off the season in 2026 on the injured reserve, I think it’s a pretty good move for the Yankees to make. As I mentioned before, they missed out on players like Michael King, etc. But if you’re able to go ahead and get a cost effective player, a cost u you know, friendly player like Edward Cabrera, who has been rumored to be on the trade market this season, yeah, it’s going to cost you a young 22-year-old outfielder, but uh that’s how the Miami Marlins work. If you want to get players under team control with some high upside and although Cabrera isn’t maybe the best player available per se, this would address a lot of needs in my opinion for the New York Yankees. So, in my personal opinion, the Yankees would win this deal uh by acquiring Edward Cabrera. I like this trade a lot. But as always, if you’re a Yankees fan, leave your thoughts.
