I think at this point its better to just not be invested in either side an just accept that the Calgary Flames are going to do the most Calgary Flames thing in the end

Fortunately for us all our other competitors also won today so no ground was lost. Though Chicago without Bedard and Nazar may be the ultimate tank.
2 points from last place in the league, 3 points from a playoff spot. In mid-December. Insane. Has anybody seen something like this before? I mean I 100% think drafting top 3 would be the better outcome for the team, but we’re kidding ourselves if we think this org would ever commit to that when things are this tight

Just do what I do and don’t spend any money on the team until they actually build a true contender. EZ

It’s not about tanking or staying in a race. We are a rebuilding team. The Flames will continue to try to win because they are professionals. At the same time the Flames will be trading away assets to help us prepare for the future. That being said – it’s going to be very difficult for them to keep winning when they trade away their leading scorer and arguably their best defenseman.

What’s the point of missing playoffs by a couple points or getting knocked out in the first when you realise scoring 10 goals every 5 games isn’t enough for a playoff series?
I don’t understand how this is still a question do people. We haven’t won a conference finals since the 80s! The Sabres have a better playoff record since the lockout than the Flames. This fan base can be insane sometimes
There is no one who can rationally think we are good enough to not rebuild. Not even .500 . If we dont get any return on our guys just like we did with gio etc… well then we deserve to be terrible
I don’t know how they are going to top last year. Missing the playoffs, but having more points than the earlstern teams.
