HIGHLIGHTS | Calgary Flames 6, Vegas Golden Knights 3 | Dec. 20, 2025
have a great start here against the Flames. Opening faceoff sponsored by the Richard Harris Law Firm and we’re underway from the Saddle Dome. They’re the Golden Knights and Barbers into the zone. Blocked by Wiger back the other way. Michael Blet feeds it out high. Zary looking couldn’t get a CLEAN SHOT AWAY THEN IT BACK SCORES ON THE REBOUND. That’s three goals in the last two games for Michael Bland and an early lead for countering. >> Oh, this is Golden Knight’s offensive zone turnovers. Talk about managing pucks. The blue line trying to make a play instead of chipping it in. Lozan’s up in the play. So that leads to the onman rush back the other way as Zary with a little play gets it to the front of that end. They just stick with it as back comes off the pile. He’s the one who makes the initial pass. She’s going to come behind everybody. A loose puck. They’re able to chip it over that left pad of Akira Schmid. And the Flames grab the early one- nothing lead. >> One of the things that Bruce Cassie touchdown this morning, Shady, the game here Tomas Hurdle breaks in and a big save made by Coley Knoff beating it to Cadri. Back to Yan Kousnett’s off Sharon Govich. Weaguer Kushnets off shot score got wiped out by Clapka. He’s shaken up and say it’s a good goal. The Flames are up two nothing. Well, we’ll take a look at this one. You can see the bench of the Golden Knights as Schmidt gets absolutely run over by Clapka. Not sure how he got in there from the left point. A play. Watch in front. There’s the shot and Clapka just runs over. Goal or not, that’s still a penalty. He just right over top of Schmidt and you can see kind of bends him up. So Golden Knights Reinhardt cutting in trying to protect the puck against Ball, but Ball able to take it away and feed it up ahead of Coronado. Blames looking to break. Coronado Frost Hubo. Ubero moves it back out high off the glove of Anderson and Stone Spring Smith JUST HOPPING ON SMITH AND ALONE. A BACK AND HE scores and a huge GOAL FOR THE GOLDEN for Riley Smith to make it a one-goal game. Riley Smith was on a change behind everybody. Calgary had everybody deep in all alone. There’s Smith. There’s the change. Perfect timing as Stone just lays that in there. He skates it. How about the move going to the backand as Smith able to get to freeze and that is a big goal for the Golden Knights here to get right back in this one as Smith will pick up his fourth of the season. Now Mark Stone another assist. So Barberv up the boards cut off by Hubo. Now Loausan able to clear. Didn’t get a lot on that but with a steal saw as he picked off the HANDLEY PASS. ON TRYING TO BREAK IN ON A SAFE Mark Stone, he’ll shovel it in deep. Jay Mansion now points at 16 of 17 for Stone this year. Pass picked off by Beecher. Up by Sing with Lombard two on if THEY COULD HURRY. LOMBBERG TO THE NET AND HE SCORES. Golden Knights got caught and led to a two-on rush for Calgary and a 3-1 lead. Something you don’t see often with the Golden Knights who have been so good defensively this year. Got a two on. There’s the turnover in the middle of the ice as Zer gives it to Lombberg and he goes past the blocker. That’s Lombberg’s just second goal of the season, but it regains the two goal lead for the Flames. The Golden Ice. Costly errors here in this first period. Think Jack Eel and Shay Theater are two of your best players. So he said the one thing we all can still do is defend well. Well, that didn’t happen. And a lot of that came because of bad decisions with the puck turnovers. >> Their best run since a nineame run two years ago. But down a couple in this game with over half the game TO GO. WIGGER CENTER ATTEMPTING SCHMID REBOUND SCORE. Michael Backman again put in his own rebound and the Flames have their largest lead of the night. Oh, it’s a turnover again. They try and stretch pass. It’s cut off in the neutral zone. You get tired. Been self-inflicted for the Golden Knights. There’s the play. Going to keep this play alive. And then it’s a change. Watch back. He’s just going to drive to the net on the far side. Stick keep makes the initial save, but he gets his own rebound. Oh, what a pass. There’s the initial stop but who had a pair against the Kraken gets one here and gives it Hurdle gets it back. Puck pinballs out in front to Martner couldn’t get the backhander away as Waguer closed on him. Faraby up ice with Beecher short-handed. Farabby closing in. Cuts into THE MIDDLE. FARABE A CHANCE AND HE SCORES. Nice move by Joel Farabby. A short-handed goal and it’s 51 Calgary. Sometimes it’s just one of those nights. Not gone well. Martyr gets a great chance as this puck makes its way right out to the slot and then just hang on. Hang on. And then it’s a turnover. Good play by Weaguer as he knocks it away. And then Farby great patience outweighs the slide. rolls to his left shooting back the other way past the glove of Akira Schmid and a big short-handed goal as the Flames in complete control now 51. Now Kolasar up ahead for Reinhardt. >> Wedged onto the play by Kusnets off. >> Well, those are just simple play. You know, you got to credit the Flames. They’ve been the better team here. More jump. >> Warner dashing in moves to the middle for Cor for Cororac and he scores. Kayen Corsac his third of the year. Two of which have come in this building to make it five to two. He was kind of surprised. As you can see the reaction and Corzac reads it at the right time. He’s just going to jump into that middle area. He gets it and shoot. Just puts it on net quick. I don’t think Culie sees this at all as a quick shot quick release by Corzac for his third of the season. And the goal Knights now a little something here to hopefully build on on the second goal. So there’s been few complaints there. Of course, it was the final game of that trip at Columbus that Babor Fia took a high hit. It was a was a 4 to3 game in favor of the Lightning with about 6 minutes left and scored a power play goal against an empty net or to make it a 6-3 win, but Golden Knights have not stared at a four-goal deficit this year. Down by three to begin the third tonight. Poke check on the line by McNab to keep the puck in. Pulls up behind Sod. His shot blocked off the back glass. kicks right out in front. Now McNab to Cororzak. He shoots it wide. Lombard actually grabbed Hannah’s hand and >> it’s a great play by McNab. That’s what you need to do. >> McNab makes a great play. Sadder. Sadder. Sadder. >> Golden Knights storm back to win. Marner trying to find the puck down low. Hurdle put it on net save. Koolie and the rebound loose. Marner thought it was in. Here’s Irish in the air. Oh, stick kind of got trapped by Faraby then up on Hurdle. Here’s a look at the chance a little bit earlier as that puck comes to the front. Goes up and wow. It’s Coleman that sweeps it away. Went up and over and lands right on the line but does not. You can see Ernle stick. He just couldn’t get it. I think he hit the side of the post and his stick couldn’t go. There’s his stick waving and that puck just dances on the line but does not cross. >> Power play for the Golden Knights. >> Try to make this a little closer with just over four minutes to go. Their second of the game >> wristing it towards an end that missed. Stone scores. He banked it in off That puck came to him off the inboards and Mark Stone has put the Golden Knights within two. How about hand eye coordination by the captain so quickly not a lot of time. See little shot here for this is for attempt. Stone misses. Comes off the back wall and he just does a little bank there. Back hand out of the air knocks it off of Kulie and into the net. See that little area off the shoulder off the back of the right shoulder of Culie as Stone just banks this in. Heads up play as the Golden Knights quick work on the power play and now they’re within two line they want on the ice. Hannneathan heading up ice. Schmid headed to the bench. Koulie plays it almost had and that go off of Mner trying to make a late push here in the third. >> Oh, and this one almost as Mner attacks the net. Koulie’s going for the open net. >> Outdoor field. They’ll bank it out to Hannif. They exchange passes. Hannah along wrist shot tipped wide goes off the inboards. Stone digging away. Centered it. Hurdle denied by Coley and Hubberto up ahead of Coleman. Broken up by Hannne. One minute to go in the third period. Sponsored by credit one back. Uber with an open net in front of him. Mner diving to break him up and Uber scores anyways down on the ice. That’ll seal the win for the Flames. Well, not for lack of opportunity. The Golden Knights said it was a bad hop as Thor Fields wanting that rebound and it just hopped over a stick. Actually getting it out. Here’s the play. First shot just wide. Another one out high. Quick pucks to the net. This one right there. >> Hops over Dorothy of stick and then the go light trying to press to keep that alive. Marner hauls down Hubo but he has enough as he puts it into the empty net. I said for a team that’s defended so well the goal of nights tonight was just one of those nights and said not a good run but it did not go their way. Six goals against for the BGK equals the most they’ve allowed in a game this year. where the eightgame point streak comes to an end and the Flames continue their solid run.
