Philadelphia Phillies TRADE Alec Bohm To New York Yankees? | MLB Trade Rumors
So, could the Philadelphia Phillies be trading away Alec Bow to the New York Yankees this 202526 MLB off season? Well, here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from bleacherreport.com. The link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself. This trade would see the Philadelphia Phillies receiving Jazz Chisum and the New York Yankees receiving Alex Bow and Orion Kirk Ring. So this trade’s interesting to me because Jazz Chisum of course is the best player in this deal. But what the Yankees would be acquiring here is some more depth in their infield specifically at third base in the form of Alec Bow. So maybe that could allow them to explore the trade market once again for Ryan McMahon. Maybe they move Alec Bow to another position. Whatever the case may be, you can kind of figure that out once it happens. But also too, you’re getting some more help for your bullpen in the form of Kirk Ring, which for this team in in New York, which has lost a couple of players specifically to the Yankees or to the Mets with Luke Weaver, Devin Williams, etc. Addressing that part of their team on the trademark might be the way they go as compared to free agency. So from the Phillies perspective, they’re getting back a 3030 player in the form of Jazz Chisum Jr. He can play multiple different defensive positions. Going to be 28 years old next year and had a pretty good year this past year, right? He put up 112 hits, a 4.2 2 war, 31 home runs, a 242 average. Um 80 RBI’s, 31 stolen bases, and on base of 332, a 481 slug, an OPS of 813, and an OPS plus of 125. So, the Philadelphia Phillies are making moves this off season. Uh they’ve done a tremendous job in my opinion, like they just, for example, got Adelis Garcia on kind of a one-year pro deal. So, that’s a pretty good move for them in my opinion. Uh they’ve done a pretty good job retaining some players in free agency. and they’ve been in on players like someone like uh Catel Marte for example as sort of the cherry on top to the Phillies this off seasonason. So I think if they want to go aggressive, go on a bit of another run next season, I think acquiring Jazz Chisum Jr. is a pretty good move. Now, from the Yankees perspective, you would be sort of buying a little bit lower on someone like Alex Bow. Like this past year for Bow, he put up a 1.54 season, 133 hits, 11 home runs, a 287 batting average, uh 59 run RBI’s, uh 331 on base, 409 sluggen ops of 741, and an OPS plus of just 102. But, uh, you can throw him at third or at first. In this case, he’d probably be a third baseman. Maybe you shift Ryan McMahon around a little bit. Maybe you trade him. whatever the case may be, you just sort of hope that someone like Alex Bow uh can get back to his former self, his former all-star self uh back in 2024 when he was a really solid player and one of the best third baseman in all of baseball. Now, also too, Kirk Ring, someone who’s actually pretty solid, only 24 years old. Um had a pretty decent season this past year for the Phils. Uh a 0.9 war, eight wins, four losses, a 3.30 RA in 69 games played. He had four recorded saves in 60 innings pitched. He had 65 strikeouts and a whip of 1.367. So, Kirk Ring, really solid player. Getting a young arm coming out of the bullpen under under team control until the 2029 season is obviously very valuable. I’m sure the Phillies wouldn’t want to trade this player per se or actively shopping him, but could this be a good move for them to acquire Jazz Chisum? Absolutely. And if you’re the New York Yankees, you’re getting back some good depth in the infield as well as some help in the bullpen, which in my opinion has to be addressed this off season. So, if I had to pick a winner of this deal, I’m going to go with the Phillies because they are getting back the best player. But if Alex Bulm can return to his former self and if Kirkham could provide some good uh innings coming out of the bullpen next year, perhaps be a replacement for Deon Williams or Luke Weaver, it’s a pretty good move for both teams. But as always, leave your thoughts.
