How the Mets Can Add a Bat AND a Starter In This 3-Team Trade💥 #Mets

Here’s the proposal. The Tampa Bay Rays get their guy in Catel Marte. In return, the Mets are going to send Brandon Sprro, Ryan Clifford, and Kodi Sanga to the Diamondbacks, and the Mets get Ryan Pepio and Yandandy Diaz from Tampa Bay. He was the centerpiece of the Tyler Glass now trade with the Dodgers a few years back. Scouts projected him to be an ace, but he hasn’t lived up to it at this point. He has though become a very serviceable number three starter. going back to 2024, his first full season in the big leagues. Pepio has given the Rays 57 starts. So, a guy that consistently takes the ball every fifth day. Something that the Mets could desperately use coming off of last season. But maybe even better in this deal is the Mets getting Y Andy Diaz back. He hit exactly 300 and got on base at a 366 clip this past season while knocking out 25 homers and driving in 83 runs, an 848 OPS, and an OPS plus of 136. Admittedly, hasn’t played first base that well. He’s worth -2 defensive runs saved there in 2025. But even that is still seven runs better than Pete Alonzo’s negative9 DRS last year.

The Mets still have time, but the board is clearing fast. I put together a 3-team trade with the Mets, Rays, and Diamondbacks that fills multiple needs and actually makes sense for all sides. 👉 Watch the full video on my channel now! #Mets #LGM #LFGM #MLB #MLBHotStove

  1. If they can't pull off a trade with two cash strapped franchises like Tampa and San Diego who just want to dump money then they'll never make a trade with them. They're both ripe for the picking.

  2. All I want for Christmas is for the Mets to get an ace in their rotation, and getting a good bat in their lineup. Getting Freddy Peralta, and Bellinger would be amazing.

  3. He played 37 games at 1b, its actually just as bad defensively maybe a bit worse.i didn't do the exact math. But I still love the idea of him being the main dh

  4. BAD PROPOSAL!!!

    YANDY DIAZ…
    # is 6'1" tall
    # 34 years old, 35 in August 2026
    # hits for average, in 9 years in MLB .290 BA
    # in 9 years, hit only 20+ HRs in 2 of 9 years

    NOTES
    # prefer taller 1B like 6'3", easy target for SS & 3B
    # where are the lost Alonso homers to come from?
    # prefer Cody Bellinger (6'3" and 30 years old) instead who can play 1B and Outfield, BA is .261, in 9 years in MLB, has hit 25+ HR in 5 of 9 years, doesn't SO alot past few years.

    RYAN PEPIOT…
    # is 6'3" tall which is good
    # is 28 years old which is not bad
    # in 2024, 8W 8L with 3.60 ERA, gave up 17 HRs
    # in 2025, 11W 12L with 3.86 ERA, gave up 26 HRs

    NOTES
    # wouldn't mind trading Brandon Sproat – not consistent
    # wouldn't mind trading Ryan Clifford – okay HR power (not like Alonso), many SOs, low BA
    # would keep Senga, should have a bounce back 2026
    # would try to sign Japanese players…
—) RHP Tatsuyo Imai (reportedly said didn't want to play in west coast), age 27 years old, about 3.10 ERA, 5'11" tall (LA Dodgers Yamamoto is only 5'10"), gets alot of SOs
—) INF Munetaka Murakami (can play 3B and 1B), bats Left throws Right, 6'2" tall, age 25 years old, can fill HR void left by Alonso, strikes out alot like most power hitters, BA of .273

    Well, that's my 2-cents worth.

  5. Yandy Diaz is a high War player and high ops other than 24 so that is good… but he is negative defensively in range outs above average, and defensive runs saved and overall fielding run value. he is cheap and 12mm and 10mm but we are giving up Clifford who could be the 1b or corner outfielder of future for 6 years vs 2 years of control. Pepio is a solid 4 maybe low end 3 but sproat could be a 5 right now and has higher upside than pepio and 6 years of control vs 3 years control. also stearns might be ready to PUNT on senga… but im not as he has the highest upside of anyone in this deal with number 2 or higher in rotation with a lifetime 3.00 era in 285innings and the nasty ghost fork. He gets injured too often but last years was a freak injury. He has 3 years of control for only 15mm a year which is cheap for a starter with that upside considering stearns paid Montas 17.5 mm for 2 years as a lifetime number 5. Im mixed on the trade but closer to a pass all things considered
