The Buffalo Sabres have hired former Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin as their next associate GM.

  1. Bergevin deprived Price of a cup by failing to put a proper team in front of him, good luck with this guy

  2. As a Habs fan I got PTSD when I heard Jarmo talk about ‘character’ then he goes out and hires the guy that created the movement.

It’s going to be frustrating times in Buffalo.

  3. I read this backwards and thought Montreal re-hired this doorknob. Thank God I’m just dyslexic.

  4. I understand the hâte for Bergevin as an habs fan but he was very good for us. The best GM we had for the last 20 years. He won most of his trade but the lack of vision in drafts hurt the team long term. Also he tend to bring his friends along with him. Go luck Sabres with your new
    Management!

  5. I thought the Sabres wanted to get better and make the playoffs ??

    Have their plans changed ??

  6. I think he will do good in buffalo. I’m sure he learned a lot from his time here. I thought he made some good trades.

  7. The only way I see him being any good in Buffalo is to embrace the villain role and start trading at 2x the rate in Buffalo.

Anyone with value goes. Anyone without value that should gets a free conditioning stint in the AHL or sits in the press box. Give the kids a chance and see who in their system dreams of playing in the show even if it’s Buffalo.

Currently it seems like players think playing in NHL Buffalo is the worst their careers can get. It’s not.

  8. Say whatever you want about Bergevin, but with him and Jarmo they are already in a much better position to turn things around then with Kevyn Adam’s. I think it was an Athletic article, but his rapid rise up the organization through the Pegula’s was really questionable.
