Insider Reveals CRAZY Trade UPDATE… MULTIPLE Blues UPDATES
Multiple NHL insiders have revealed a crazy St. Louis Blues trade update as Doug Armstrong continues to work the phones revolving around a few players in particular. And not only that, we’re going to break down multiple other updates around the Blues as some young stars start to emerge in the organization and some comments from Jim Montgomery. We’re going to break it all down in this episode of Blues Digest. But before we get into all of that, a quick reminder to hit that subscribe button. Go down below, hit that free subscribe button. You get to stay up to date with everything St. Louis Blues. But let’s get right into it, guys. There’s been multiple reports and we’re going to focus on one player in particular, but we’re going to bring you everything on this episode with the Blues. And this is from David Pota and this is from just a couple days ago. But things are continuing to snowball around the Blues. And we know that Doug Armstrong, there were reports last week that Doug Armstrong is actively working the phones and getting prices, getting listings for his own players, seeing what’s out there, getting feelers from other teams in terms of what his players are worth. So then he can go ahead and pull the trigger on a trade. Now from Pota he said there are obviously teams that are kicking tires on pieces whether it’s Jordan Bennington. Now some of the names named here I think are very interesting. We’ve talked about Jordan Biddington. He has a modified no trade list. All of these things he didn’t want to go to Edmonton. Uh it was on his list. That’s an interesting name. Oscar Sunquist is another interesting one. He’s been here a while. A lot of teams could use his services. A lot of those top teams would pay for an Oscar Sunquist. Now he’s also at pending UFA. And if this is going where we’re thinking we’re headed at this point with this team, you want to sell off as many UFAs as you possibly can. Now, Matthew Joseph is another pending UFA and Jordan Cyu and so on. He names some of the names here are very interesting. He also says and so on. I don’t I don’t think Robert Thomas is going anywhere. For example, uh there’s another report that they’re starting to hear and this is from Bangota as well. Pavo Bhnavic’s name is starting to circulate which is very interesting. Again, I think this is Doug Armstrong just putting feelers out there because Bnavich’s contract and I want to focus on him for the majority of this video is a very interesting one that I feel like a lot of teams would not like to take on. Although the salary cap is going up and he could be of use to a couple different teams, but uh he’s an interesting one. Now, he’s got a full no trade clause in his contract, which is a little insane. It’s a not a no move clause but a no trade clause but I think there might be a willingness in the right environment to exploring moving on at times even this year at times in the past we’ve seen Bushnavic is not the most consistent player he definitely isn’t and one thing I wanted to bring up too this is a great article from Lou Doug Armstrong had some comments about the coaching staff and he said that their work ethic is excellent they’re pushing they’re proddding and the Blues GM will likely hold players accountable this goound if things don’t change and the reason and this is a great read go check this out. The reason I’m bringing this up is because Doug Armstrong has made it abundantly clear at this point that he’s going to sell off players. This coaching staff is not going anywhere. He believes in Joe Montgomery because of everything we’ve seen, you know, last year and of course what he did with the Bruins, uh, you know, historic season with them. This coaching staff isn’t going anywhere. The players that are underperforming are. And I think he’s making it abundantly clear with that quote. So, I just wanted to bring that up that this is definitely on the players at this point. and he will be making moves, not firing. So, very interesting stuff there. Now, on Bhnavic, he’s an interesting case. He’s in the first year of a six-year, $8 million a year deal with a no trade clause. This is almost as unmovable as it gets. He’s also 30 years old. It’s not like he’s 22 or anything like that. He’s 30 years old. He’s had some uh, you know, stretches where he’s looked absolutely abysmal. $8 million, six-year contract. It is not ideal. So, uh I don’t know how Doug Armstrong’s planning to move off that. Now, you can see that, you know, another player I want to get to in Bergen the last little while, he’s been fantastic. You know, he’s been put on the line with Pavl Buchavic and Robert Thomas and they found some chemistry up there. And of course, after last night’s game, uh you got to keep them the same, I think. I mean, I know Jim Montgomery still wants to win. A lot of us are saying, you know, it’s time to sell off and just see what you have. I’m not saying to tank necessarily, but I think it’s time to, you know, get things moving, maybe move off of a couple older players. Uh, but that line has looked pretty good. So, maybe increasing his trade value a little bit. And if you take a look at this this season, now this was a couple weeks ago, but this shows you how much this guy fluctuates and why it might be hard to get a deal done for this guy. The first 21 games of this season, he had two goals, five assists for seven points. Yuck. He was a minus 12. Now he’s a plus one in his last nine games with three goals, four assists, and seven points. Seven points in nine games. He looks a lot better. And that’s kind of what I’m talking about. Like he does not have any type of consistency. You can also see in terms of plus minus, which is a stat I don’t put too much uh stock into unless you’re egregious, which is where Braden Shen is going into at this point, that category. Bavu Buchvich is also up there 15th in the league. Uh and like Thomas, you know, puts here, if the St. Louis Blues were playing golf instead of hockey, they’d be in pretty good shape this season if you were looking at these stats, but of course not the case. But uh Bhnavic hasn’t been good in plus minus. So I don’t know how they move off that contract, but like I mentioned, let me know in the comments how you feel about that. Looks like they’re throwing some feelers out right now. And I do want to mention if you made it this far in the video, we’re on a holiday, you know, freeze right now, a roster freeze. There’s no trades coming until after Christmas. So keep that in mind. There is a holiday freeze right now, but moves will be starting to be made soon. And I do believe Doug Armstrong’s working those phones. He’s putting those names out there. There’s a reason these insiders are naming certain players. And we keep bringing up Jordan Kyu on the channel, guys. It’s coming from somewhere. We keep hearing his name. So, that’s just what we’re hearing at this point. We’ll see what happens. And I don’t think Doug’s necessarily in a rush to get these done, but I do think that there’s a reason why certain names are continuing to show up in these headlines, continuing to be told that, you know, they’re in uh trade talks. There is a reason, I believe. So, pretty interesting stuff. Let me know how you feel about that in the comments. Now, I want to talk about Jonathan, uh, which I believe it’s pronounced Jonathan Bergen. And, uh, 15 games with the Red Wings this season. He had two goals and four assists. He’s almost matched that output already in just three games with the Blues. He’s taken some reps on that top line now. He looks fantastic. So, I just wanted to shout him out and give him, you know, a spotlight here on the channel for a little bit. Ever since coming over on Wavers, and we said it on the channel, that was a huge waiver pickup. That was a great pickup. the Blues needed to do that. I’m sure there was a lot of other teams in on the mix uh in terms of obviously the order, but the Blues, you know, have priority over some other teams. Now, uh tonight was also Jonathan Bergen’s first game with more than two points in his NHL career. 172 games. He had two points in that game. He was fantastic, as I mentioned, and just as good of a game as it gets last night against the Panthers. Of course, you’re up two nothing. You let them crawl back, make it 2-2, but then you take over the game. and they looked really good on the backs of some of the younger stars. Stenberg, first two NHL points. He looks great since coming up from Springfield. He looked great in Springfield. Uh, you know, we were talking about how, you know, he doesn’t look like he’s dominating the league, but he’s definitely a player to, uh, steal some wording from Jim Montgomery there. Bavic had two points. Her 27 saves. He’s looked really good as of late as well. Neighbors has been awesome all season. if he wasn’t injured, I would love to see where he would be at in terms of point production. And Bergen, of course, like I mentioned, he was fantastic tonight as well. And you can see this, you know, the projected lineup from last night’s game, uh, or what ended up being the lineup. Uh, I like some of these lines, you know, that second line with Steamber and Neighbors, they were doing some damage. Bergen on the top line, like I mentioned, I like D’vorski as that third line center. I really do. Torchenko made his way back into the lineup. Mayu looks a lot better as of late. doesn’t look as egregious. I should say he’s going to make some mistakes. That is for sure. But let me know how you feel about all of that in the comments below. And you know, before we wrap up here, comment of the day. And this is an interesting one. I wanted to bring this up. It’s almost a two-parter here with a reply as well. But I’m not sure if a lot of fans understand what’s going on. These new players and young guys, they are playing to see if they can get good enough to finish the year. And if they do, the Blues will start trading a lot of players after the Olympics. So hang on. It’s going to get crazy and it won’t be long. We’ll have a few new players. A lot of people are saying, you know, Fabri looks fantastic and like a better influence on the team as well. Fabri looks awesome since signing, guys. He looks fantastic. But yeah, I have to agree with the first comment. That’s kind of what we were talking about in our video, you know, a couple days ago. Mark and I, uh, this is what’s happening with this team now. By the end of this season, I would suspect that a lot of the older guys will be gone. It’s going to be a new era. You’re going to be handing the keys off to some of the younger guys. They’re just seeing what they have in some of these younger guys right now. And it’s a perfect opportunity to do that because you have so many injuries and so many guys out due to injuries. So, it’s going to be uh very interesting to see what happens the rest of the way. Thank you everyone for watching. If you haven’t yet, hit that subscribe button. And we’ll be back for another episode

I really like the new young player we picked up from Detroit!
We’re better since Kyrou has been out of the lineup. Young guys are looking fantastic and I am really starting to like Mailloux. Reminds me of Vince Dunn how he can move around the Blue line to find an opening for a shot. I think as he gains more confidence we’re only going to see more of that and more points from him.
Yes the new player we got from the red wings and Steinberg could be new blood in the blues that help bring this team out of the shit hole and Robbie fabri Ithink his return has been a plus hopefully he stays healthy
Why don’t we wait and let kyrou get healthy and come back maybe their hearts are finally starting to beat and let’s see when Cairo comes back. Give him a couple games to get his leg back and see what happens. It’s best to wait a little bit anyway before you make these trades why are you such a hurry to tear it down? I see we got the heart on the team starting to beat
The overhype is probably keeping your subs down boys. You do it every single tme
rumors out of Montreal that the habs are smelling around about Thomas..would binnington go to Montreal for a package including Monty back to the blues?
The Pavel Buchnevich contract is one of the worst decisions Doug Armstrong has ever made after letting Petro go
Right now you could trade 89 for the Leafs 34 and nothing would change. Overpaid forwards have zero urgency to win, because they are being paid like they have won! A lot of teams are dealing with mediocre star players not performing, so its not exclusive to the Blues. The team will get better and tighter as the season goes on. Sometimes these things can take 2 seasons to gel…so be patient! You guys won in 2019! Ask the Leafs when they last seen success!!
Buchy is consistent 60 -80 points every year great play maker. He's consistent as one can be with this crazy schedule. Blues WILL make the playoffs again so RELAX everyone!! Who gets healthy and hot wins the cup!!! Go Blues GO!!
Buchy and Faulk have been playing much better lately
Trading Buch is not an option, until he turns it around to recoup value. Fans are far too reactionary. The same people will complain about the return
His name is pronounced "yawn a ton" = Jonatan
