I actually just finished talking to Bill Murphy, the new pitching coach, and man is he’s such an impressive dude. He really is like, you know, he came here from the Astros. He he became a coach early. He was ripping on himself as a player, saying he was a terrible player. So, the only good thing there is he able was able to start his coaching career early. Uh, but we talked a lot of pitching and he was talking about um you number one wanting to come here, which was cool. And that is like a genuine answer. you know, he he said, “I can’t wait for our s our fans to see us playing in October.” Um, and I I truly feel that everybody is oriented toward that and that’s going to happen. And he’s like, “That’s why I came here and I didn’t have to come here. I wanted to come here.” This a guy leaving the Houston Astros, one of the just preeminent organizations right now. And he he chose to go from there to Pittsburgh. You can tell guys like him, they respect him. Bright guy. I think is going to do a lot of good things for the pitching staff. And and it’s a tough task for him too because they have to have an elite pitching style.
Pitching coach Bill Murphy is making quite the first impression ahead of his first year with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
