I’ve been in this camp for a while at this point but I’m just not interested in Robert. His attitude is not good and he can’t stay healthy. His stats have been trending down for the last few seasons too so there’s not much to like.
Puig 2.0, but worse.
Definitely don’t want him for the prices that we’re getting tossed around last offseason.
But for the right price we can have a try with a “we can fix him” attitude.
Not sure who would be acceptable for us to trade off our pitching staff though. Maybe Sam Moll? Know we just signed him but he’s a bit of a gamble for us as well.
Depends on how much the White Sox have learned the lesson on holding out for the moon.
If they want to swing a deal where the include half of this years salary and get back 2 decent prospects, maybe. If they dont want to pay the salary and let him go with minimal return, also maybe.
But if theyre still sitting on the stoop they did last year of 3 good prospects plus not including any money back, then nah.
One caveat though is that they are sitting on several good catchers. If they want to do a deal with say Robert and Teel, letting the Reds flip Stephenson in a separate deal to pay for Roberts salary, then this becomes very interesting.
From everything I’ve ever seen their asking price for Robert will be ridiculous
I was really interested in Robert 2 years ago. Dudes going to be real expensive, spoiled milk.
No thanks: not giving up anything for him.
I didn’t like this idea last year, and I haven’t changed my mind.
HARD pass on Robert
Rather play Will Benson for close to nothing, they’ve got pretty similar numbers
