Knicks’ Mitchell Robinson takes big step in career night at the foul line: ‘You’re seeing the progress’

Small sample size (lest we forget that night he went like 6/6 against Boston in the playoffs). Let’s hope it’s a sign of things to come
Why do people on this sub think he solved his free throw issues overnight?
No we’re not. His shot is still nearly horizontal. No spin. Unnecessary super quick release. He shoots like he has adhd just trying to get rid of the ball. He’s not really a 17% ft shooter so this is regression to the mean a little.
I hope he truly gets better, but hitting what 7 in a row was pure entertainment I was jumping around and laughing like an 8 year old
My fan fiction is that Mitchell really is making progress, the other night wasn’t a fluke, and teams aggressively test him and learn the hard way!
I feel like we’re jinxing him 😂 if he does it again tonight and next week we can start to feel hopeful (he is the goat at rebounding, so I’ll take him however he shows up). Really says something he’s able to make a ft all of a sudden though – and times 7. I’ve never seen him have a night like that.
We’d all love to see him become a competent FT shooter, so let’s hope this is a sign of him moving forward and the hack a Mitch era can come to an end. Was beautiful to see him make 7 in a row even with the loss it brought some joy to the crowd.
It’s was one night – but the fact that he “felt the groove” can’t hurt.
If this guy could shoot 60% even he’d be magnitudes more valuable
